Artorias Cosplay Co-op/PvP build

Hi,

so in the last couple of days I've cleared all the DLC content for the first time.I love the Artorias equip and weapon because of its style and decided to do a build around it with my next char.It's been difficult to decide since the stat requirements kinda,well,require you to have a bit of every of the four main stats str,dex,int and faith.Here's my build:

I'd like to hear your opinions.I have no idea what kind of spells I could use,but I'd be glad about any suggestions!

I think your stat allocation is fine, assuming the build has been made.  The preferences in dex and str are only dependent on what else you plan to do.
ie 23dex/40str has the same attack rating as 23str/40dex...which is something to consider.

Spells???...

Things I think the "things" the build can pull off are:

-Using a Darkhand

-Fast Rolling

-Black Flame

-Karmic Justice

-Wrath of God

-Power Within

Those are the things I think fit the build from a cosplay perspective. They can be very effective as well.

Thanks for the suggestions!Those are indeed some that could come in handy and fit to the cosplay build :)As for the 23 dex or 23 str,I'm not sure as well.Since there would be no difference but the stat itself.I think I would go for str,it would give me the ability to make different str builds from it as well and give me quite a few possiblitys should I decide to change my Artorias cosplay one day.

It depends.

Black Flame is the only casting in there affected by dexterity.

At 45 dex, the kick-->combustion and/or BF combo works EXTREMELY well, but not so well at 40 dex.  Devokai mentioned this in a thread he posted yesterday, and explained why very well I thougt.

Also, if you're going to use WoG or Karmic Justice, they will only be utilitarian in nature, and pose a problem because of the stat requirements.

If you'd like to use str weapons and keep the build the way you have it posted, I'd prolly go with:

-Darkhand (AMAZING pvp shield)

-Fast Roll

-Force maybe instead of WoG or KJ

-PW and BF, but I'd forget about the kick combo and only use BF for wake ups.

I always thought a Arotrias Karmic Justice / Power Within build would be awesome, but never got around to figuring out how to properly do it on mugenmonkey.

Looks good mate! I would try get a light shield in there, maybe use the Dark Hand like 'Animaaal' mentioned.

If this isn't going to be a super dedicated roleplay build I would suggest you do 23 Str and 40 Dex. Strength gets a 1.5 multiplier buff when you two hand while dexterity does not, so maxing dexterity and leaving some room for the strength buff would squeeze out the most AR.

^That's good advice, but completely weapon dependent.

Make sure to take a good long look at the weapons section in the wiki to see why this would affect some weapons and not others.

I'm going to look at what I actually wanna do if I should change my mind and use other weapons.I'd like to go for str since then I could do str builds from this one as well.But maybe dex would do it for me too.I've just never had a dex build and thus have less idea of what dex weapons are very good to use in case I'd want to do something else with my Artorias build.Lifehunt Scythe sounds fun.

Lifehunt Scythe is a great weapon but the bleed damage also effects you, I would use the Bloodshield with it but then you can't Fast Roll.

Yeah,forgot about that.Well,maybe I could use the normal Scythe,it has a great moveset I believe.

 Just as good, and very easy to locate, you could get it very early on in the game unlike the Lifehunt Scythe.

Yeah,it would help greatly in the early game ;)I think I'm gonna go for 23str and 40dex then.I find that quite interesting,the Scythe scales best with that and as Sneezer said,my Abyss Greatsword scales also best with it when 2handing.

Yeah, that would work really well.

Make sure you have 10 humanity because it makes the sword do more damage.

I have an Abyss Greatsword build and it's one of my favorite builds. It can just completely annihilate people. Good luck.

That sounds great!I hope to get used some of the special swings of the moveset this weapon has to offer.Simply because of the coolness factor,in my opinion.

It's hard to land the 2Hr2 but it's possible. What i do with the 1HR2 is when someone is getting up from being knocked down, time it right and as soon as they get up, they'll get hit by the spins.

I'll parry someone and do a lot of damage, and when they come up they get even more damage.

It's awesome. The 2HR2 though is better used if unlocked. Like i said though, hard to do.

I can see all the possibilities with that weapon.I will definitely need some more training in parrying,backstabbing and of course learning how to use its moveset properly,but I think it will be a lot of fun!And how to fight without locking on.It will probably be even more important with this weapon,the way you tell about it.

Fighting unlocked should be a skill you should be able to use, regardless of weapon choice.

It's just incredibly hard to hit with the 2HR2 period, but unlocking can make it easier as long as you can guess where your enemy is going to be. Your best bet is using the move as they're getting up. But it'll still be hard. Better to 1HR2.

But yes, parrying, backstabbing, and fighting unlocked are key components to Dks PVP.
