Non-buffing Silver Knight Straight Sword build?

Is it really viable? The SKSS is a pretty sweet weapon and buffing makes it even more awesome; but I dunno, I'm having trouble finding time to buff while invading or hosting.  I also think it is btter for lower Soul Levels, where the SL investement needed for buffing (resins not withstanding) is simply not worth the trade off.

I use it. I suggest you carry another weapon like an elemantal claymore and menu swap to it when the other player won't let you buff it. It also really sucks against katanas; carry a spear.

This. A level 55 build, with flexible ring slot for either having 53 poise, flipping everywhere, or anything else.

And this. Battle mage, lvl 99, 53 poise. CMW buffed Silver knight sword with butt-loads of sorcery at your disposal.

I love how SKSS looks, but it's so slow and it's criticals seem really weak. Also kinda heavy. :/

remember that it basically is a greatsword when 2handing, the R2s break 52 poise just like the greatsword R1s. it really is a very good weapon, with base stats @ low lvl or with 40dex.

2h r2s break 53 poise? nice info there, i guess you mustve done lots of testing for that. actually wait, no you didnt, because they break 37

maybe my memory is fuzzy since it's been a few months (or they patched it since) but this testing session was to find out the poisebreaks of the 2 dex swords specifically. i also meant it breaks 52poise of course, you need 53 to tank it (if my testings are still correct).

no you need 37 to tank it, it breaks 36

that's strange, i told my testing partner to equip 52poise and iirc visually confirmed that he did...oh well, sorry for spreading misinformation, certainly not my intention. anyone else tested this recently?

skss is a pretty solid weapon but it gets easily out class by alot of others if ur going use this its good 2 have a great backup weapon with u like a spear or clay depends on ur playstyle really
