This is in no way promoting modding, hacking, altering the game in any way.

Just things modders have said to you if you say that they cheated or if you killed them. I tend to get a lot of pretty incomprehensible pieces of trash.

From 5 minutes ago in the moonpit:

I sent:
"Are you really going to do *Well? What is it?* after eating 5+ DB's to fill your already modded HP?" (around 10,000, I ended up chainstabbing him with hornet ring)

I received:
"im just tryin to beat the game if you cant handle losing dont invade me"

I sent:
"You do understand I don't choose who I invade. And if you're trying to beat the game, don't reverse hollow. It isn't much of an accomplishment since you're cheating though..."

I received:
"dont be a scrub and invad people that play with friends and not looking for a fight and if your gonnna be a scrub then don get pissed when you die... end of discussion... blocked...

I swear these modders aren't quite there in the head...

Learn to move on and not waste time with mailing these people.

Only the dumb ones mod unless someone is just playing around.
In which case they'd never send hate mail.
If I was a modder, this would be the only thing I would do. Screw hacking for benefit.

Well, you did sent him the first message and even if he had a hacked toon he has the right to be angry when getting invaded. however compared to other hatemail I've seen, this is extremely tame. And I think that he would have gone his merry way had you not messaged him first.

However none of this justify him modding the game.

This was in no way aggressively posted either. It just seems that generally, people who mod the game, are usually the most fun to screw with. Because they can't justify themselves gameplay-wise, so you get to laugh as you get called "scrub", "bad", "no-life", and every single other internet insult in the book. I was just seeing if anybody had some really interesting ones laughing

Exactly. He claimed he was trying to beat the level as well, but he was just standing by the bonfire waiting.

I dissagree, the point of Dark Souls isn't invasions at all since, they are completely optional (even invading Lautrec is not required to finish the game).

And people are free to react like they want, when not actively pvp-ing I hate to be invaded; but I know and accept the risk o going in human form, this host didn't like it either and decided to let the invasor (SadPanda in this case) know that, furthermore many people in forums seem to take hatemail as a badge of honor, so I fail to see the problem with the host sending "hatemail" other than him modding his game.

From his messages he seemed to be waiting for a friend to drop a WSS.

Dark Souls is a PvE based game. PvP was just an added feature.

Though doesn't count if you send the hatemail first. Don't feed their trolling/griefing.

Also, I never get mad when invaded. Being human is a duel-edged sword. I can summon people to help me with a boss but also be invaded to make sure I don't kill that boss. Tis' the nature of Dark Souls.

I invaded and got killed by a hacking host who ate a full Zwei stunlock without a point of damage, I sent him "Is it really so fun to win while hacking?" or something like that, he replied with "What, you say I'm hacking just cause I'm better than you get a life". I then pointed out the stunlock, and how he took fall damage despite no damage number showing up above his health bar, and threatened to report him to PSN. He never responded.

Usually when someone sends hatemail, they expose themselves. Sure, it can be upsetting, but then I just remember this. I grew out of that behavior in high school. Some people are stuck in that mentality and they deserve our pity.

On that note, I am sick of all the burner accounts people make. All in all though getting really sick of the Xbox scene in Dark Souls. Debating on getting the PS3 version just to to avoid all the modders Hatemail From Modders 3745673325

Which is the least deadly poison is the one you want. But it is still poison all the same. If you have the one you don't want, deal with it enough and soon the effect will seem less to you.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "burner account" and what is the difference between PS3 and Xbox 360 lag in Dark Souls? I tought the lag was the same for both consoles.

i remember i modded a game for (cool stuff) someone entered my server stayed for a while....left and i got banned for modding inappropriate stuff when it was freaking airplanes

From what my knowledge has I believe a burner account is another account used solely to receive the hatemail and people who have reported them for hacking and the account used by the hackers themselves. Some hackers on xbox make it a fact to put something like "This is not my real account so F**** you losers".
