Well since it is Battlefront, it's a day one buy for me even though EA is tied to it. Though I will say DICE is a good choice to make it, even though I'm not a big fan of Battlefield series they do make some impressively large maps. I really hope EA doesn't screw this up.

DICE are actually pretty good developers,EA may drag it down with the DLC but the gameplay will be good.You don't need to be a fan of Battlefield to appreciate the good graphics and tight squad based gameplay.I'm not so sure how they will implement melee characters if they bring back heroes as I imagine they will use a modified Frostbite engine to make it.

Tell you what if dice mix it up with 2142 you'll have a great game. Titan type mode is more viable in the starwars universe.

prepare for stormtroopers all the pew pew under frosbite 3 it would have a lot of color going on i dont think its going to be like how the star wars battlefront was originally it better not have the battlefield feeling i wonder about the other devs that are making star wars games like 1313 because ea/dice isn't the only one

good choice going with dice on this one, they're experienced with big maps and that's what battlefront needs, i don't get why people would hate on dice, i mean who else is gonna make it? infinity ward?, yeah its gonna be another shooter but it's gonna be different since there's gonna be robots and that alone is enough to have it be awesome, kinda like starhawk which is a really underrated game btw. im personally looking forward to the robots and planes(hopefully) ssince i HATE lasers.

I have nothing against Dice. Battlefield 2 is one of my favourite FPS games of all time.

It's also pretty ironic/funny that EA are rebooting the series of a development studio that they themselves shut down.
I'm reserving judgement on this till I see how the gameplay looks.

I really, really want this game to be good but I don't know.
I hope dice doesn't turn this into battlefield with giant maps, the game was good because of tiny maps with tonnes of bots. Also, I hope they put a worthwhile campaign in the game and of course, space battles.

I loved Battlefront. I made so many strategies in it with friends, and there was a library nearby that let kids go there and play games on Flat screens, so me and my friend would dominate everybody that even tried to go against us. Mainly with engineers and scouts. And if this game will be anything like the last, I am buying it. Of course, like anyone with common sense, I am wary of EA as it is the Rockefeller of the video game world(look it up if you don't get the reference). So, DLC will be imminent with this title, but as long as Anakin Skywalker and Jango Fett aren't DLC, I will be fine.
Also, Dice is awesome. They don't make my favorite games, but they have a better reputation then most, albeit they are tied to EA.

I'm not sure about why people hate EA so much.They have a lot of paid DLC but it's far better content that you'd see from Activision.I think big maps are necessary too,why would the battle of Hoth be a small map? That'd be rather stupid given how big AT-ATs are and that we need space for aircraft in other ground battles.Sure,some smaller indoor maps would be good but limiting the playing area wouldn't be much fun.I wonder if they will pick up the ground-to-space idea suggested for the scrapped game.

Apparently EA opened a new studio in LA, for Star Wars games. And the majority of DICE aren't actually working on it. It's a new DICE studio with new people working there, and the people from Danger Close who made Medal of Honor 1 and 2 will actually be developing Star Wars Battlefront. Not the guys who make the Battlefield games.
EDIT: It turns out Stockholme Studios(Part of DICE) will also be working on it. So it seems like, some new guys, some of DICE, and some of the MoH guys will be working on it.
