Now, don't misunderstand me and think that by that I mean the game should constantly change. By this, I mean maybe item placement is a little off. Maybe merchants will sell slightly different things every once and awhile. I don't mean that the game should constantly twist and turn (which would make since, we are messing with time and worlds all the time), I'm simply saying I'd like to be surprised when something occurs instead of acknowledging that said thing was going to happen.
I simply want to be surprised again. Once you know a lot about Dark Souls, it's very easy to get what you want, know what you need, and when to use certain things.
Just to give an example of how it is now.
Say you have 25k souls, you need to buy a key that cost 8k souls, and leveling costs 20k souls. There is an enemy on the way to where you buy the key at that drops 5k souls. Since you KNOW the enemy is there, and since you KNOW the key costs 8k souls, then you KNOW you can level up.
Now look at it differently. Say the enemy is stronger or weaker depending on the time of day, or maybe the key can not be obtained because of else. You do not KNOW that you can kill the stronger enemy, you only think you can. There will be consequences should you fail, instead of you knowing that you're not going to fail whatsoever.
I simply want things to change, even if only slightly. I want the AI to respond in a different way, merchants not to act the same all the time. I'd even be fine with something as simple as an enemy having an attack that buffs its defenses in one category so you have to prepare with different types of weapons. Anything, but I do not want a memory game.
I want to feel like I know nothing about what is going to happen around each turn. I simply want the thrill of PvE back on every single run without having to limit yourself, or having to beat the game so many times to make it overly hard.
