Hacker stealing humanity?

I met a hacker in the township yesterday, something I have not seen previously. This guy used Chesters set and was equipped only with Avelyn crossbow as far as I could see.
He hit my shield with a few arrows which resulted in a message popping up "Humanity stolen". Fortunately, it appears that this was pretty harmless since I did not loose any of my humanity. However my character was subsequently covered in some dark smoke and I was unable to move for about 3 sec. He then moved very close to me and I tried to spam black-flame on him since he was obviously a hacker. Unfortunately he also got unlimited health so I just fleed and jumped to my death.

Anyone seen something similar? This was on PC (not surprising?)

Seems anything is possible on PC. Did you have any humanity in the counter beforehand. at least you didn't get cursed.

Yeah, I had 13 humanities before and after the encounter so I don´t think anything bad actually came out of it.

Could've been much worse(loook below). He probably chucked iron flesh on you or something similar, i've seen guys inflict dragon body on other players.

It was worse! I just realized that he lowered my stats (from 28 STR to 20 STR and from 25 INT to 23 int) I am still at the same level (100) but with lower stats.
Fun guy.. What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Find a working save editor. That's about all you can do.

Thanks for the tips! Have now fixed it by using one of these save editors.

I hope people stop doing this to other players online, it can really destroy Dark souls on PC.

How could he affect your stats? Wouldn't he have to hack your account or something to that nature?(I'm not a PC person just really intrigued by developement)

There must be some scrapped code for draining skill levels.

Yeah on PC you can drain stats, inflict curse, steal humanity, and who knows what else. And I thought xbox was bad!!!
