    I have DS PtDE for windows PC with GfWL How can I see which patch I'm currently running?
    How can I install a patch?

    As far as i know, patches on pc apply automatically, either via steam or gfwl. If your Game is not up-to-date, gfwl will not allow you to log in.

    when you are able to go online, its 1.07

    ok, then it is 1.07

    Can I prevent the game from updating to 1.08 because there should occure the "flickering"?

    Don't worry about that, that was a PS3 problem, it was actually a PS3 firmware update that broke dark souls.

    1.08 is a pure ps3-patch and the flickering will not occur on PC. But no, you would not be able to prevent patching unless you would quit going online.
