My parents used a load of sayings, usually one or two in every conversation.

I think the problem stems from my Asperger Syndrome, making it hard for me to understand the emotional connection between sayings and what they actually mean.
Now i have overcome a majorety of the problems, but when i comes to sayings, i usually only get a minor part of it.

I've got Asperger's too. I used to find it difficult to understand motives and emotional meanings behind what people said at about 13, but learned to overcome that. Sayings, not even people without Asperger's can just know what they mean. They have a hidden meaning, us people have difficulty discerning meanings, yes but these are usually associated with a moral or a story. Most people won't get it unless explained to them.
