Everyone has a counter to a shield now, so rolling is my main form of dodging regardless of the build.
The only exception to the rule is Wrath of The Gods, I can never escape it fast enough.

Who knows how many times I got killed on those quick time events they implemented into RE4, I hated the fight scene with Krauser just because I always died a few times trying to react, but failing to.

You dodge the Dark Bead first, then the Pursuers come at you. You want to angle it so it's next to you, I've found that dodging them to the side is easier once you follow up with the second roll, since you roll straight through them twice.
