How the Hell do you fight the Hellkite Dragon/Drake?

I just went to NG+, got my Demon's Greataxe +14, Sunlight Blade at 30 faith, Full giants +5 and flame stoneplate ring, Whenever I try to fight this beast head on, he just rips through my Havel's shield with flames and one shots me! As soon as I try to approach him for Melee combat he just flies up and breathes fire that one shots me! That's basically cheating!

Seriously dude never change that avatar, i kept reading that post and looking over at the avatar.

Usually cheese him by firing an arrow from the protective cover, run out as he flies down, chop chop and run back behind the cover before he goes buck ape and repeat.

Three ways.

Chicken way
Go down, below the bridge, to the spot where are the three rats. Go to the furthest wall on that small ledge there and look behind you. You, now have a clear shot at Hellkite's head and can snipe him with arrows into oblivion. He can heal, so be sure to shoot him in his head as soon as he sits on it's perch above the bridge, or he will start healing himself.

Tarkus way
Lure him to land on the bridge and run past him. There are two places before entering the building, one on each side of the bridge, that you can use to hide. All of his breath attacks, except for the one where he flies will not hurt you there. Wait there for Hellkite to come to you and then go stand in front of his head. You can smack him a few times if he stays idle. He will usually try to bite you, which is your cue to roll past and attack his neck, or body a few times and retreat back to safety. If he does his fire attack, just abort attacking and go back. If he flies up, hightail as fast as you can inside the building and hide behind the wall. Stay there until he stops spamming his flying attack and go back.

If his breaths gets you, heal as soon as possible to full health and try to get away. Never run (as in sprint) away, or block his breath, for you will get extra damage which is likely to kill you. Having high Poise may lead to you getting hit by his breath multiple times, which is something you may want to avoid.

KAMIKAZENOOBSTYLE way
Get Red Tearstone Ring active, buff yourself with Power Within and either prepare some spells like HCS, or Pursuers, or buff your weapon. Lure Hellikte to land on the bridge. Run on him while shouting "LEEEERRRROOOOYYYYYY JENKIIIIINSSSS!!!" and bash him/spam spells on him until he dies. Shouldn't take more than few seconds.

Not sure if its been patched but I remember being able to shoot him from atop the tower behind him in the back of the head one shot one kill. Its not often he is sitting on his perch though.

Or I take him head on with a spear of some discrition and attack his head, or a Zwei combo each hit doaes the trick.
