600,000 souls

I'm a little new to the game, but I recently beat a player while invading and recieved 600,000+ souls.. Was that the players souls? or how is that calculated? I'm not really sure if I even want to use the souls. Invading just seems to get harder the higher u go.

no name tags unless its yours(edit it out). and he probably had been farming for a while, from what i know you get half of the souls he has.

use the souls to buy 99 of all the good consumables, like green grass/dung pie/poison knife/arrows/bolts/titanite

I have no idea how this is calculated. Some think it's SL only, others how many souls they were carrying, others humanity, others some other combination of them.

Personally, I think it's a combo of souls AND SL

I have a 200 that still get alot of invasion but thats because DMBs have no limit

I stil don't get the soul thing, I know I have fought at sl213 with 5mil souls on me and my opponent only gets like 150k.

I want to know this too because I once got 890k off of one individual.

I think its either based upon their SL alone or a combination of SL and souls carried on the person. There is a calculator available which allows you to roughly determine the SL of person who was killed both from a host standpoint and the invader. I think this will be small mystery for sometime to come though.

I kid you not, I had the same thing happen about 20 minutes later, totaling about 1,200,000 souls
I decided to go hollow to avoid any conflict and then went around buying any/every reagent I might ever need. got the SS to prove it.

Edit: upgraded my pyro to ascended +5 too
(after i spent a few 20k)
