Stumped on my 2nd attunement slot.

Hey guys, I've been changing around my 2nd attunement slot for the longest time, but I don't really know what to put there.

Black Flame is in the first slot.

I've got Great Fireball, Fire Tempest, Fire Whip, Power Within, and Fire Surge to choose from.

Fire Surge has been there the longest, but it hasn't worked too well so far, but everything else other then Power Within is just gonna end up with me being roll-stabbed. Though the possibility of me using them wrong is there.

I really like the Fireball series, but I've never hit someone with them. Ever. Same with Fire Tempest/Whip. Free aiming is a skill I'm aware of, but even still, the results have been pretty bad, and I feel I'm pretty decent at it.

This especially goes out to the people who have fought me before, what do you guys think might help?

Fire Surge is extremely situational but when you land it, it hits like a truck.
I would honestly suggest Fire Surge. Use it to lure opponents to a certain direction and as they try to charge in, switch to BF, stun them with BF and go for a full weapon combo.

They are all useful. I would suggest spending time with each one perfecting their usage and then attune to compliment your build/opponent.

If you dont have at leat 40 dex (38 depending on how comfortable you are), you'll want to stick to GC/BF/Fire surge/PW/ or maybe even a mist for distractions if you're using a bow or xbow.

BF does 61 poise danage and GC does 40. GC also provides a lot more damage for people weal against fire.

Like I knew I would, I forgot to mention that I have 40 Dex. Is Great Fireball still an option at that point?

What Weapon do you use?

GT(I think most curved swords, pgs might be too short), Great Scythe, BSS any Spear And if you hit a good clean unlocked GFB you can combo a running attack.

Really GFB (or GCFB) is the best pyro once you get a handle on unlocked aiming. It does so much for you.

I use a Claymore paired with a Longsword most of them time, but I've got a Falchion and Partizan available to me. Maybe I'll switch my combinations around.

Go with fireball. As Renegade stated, you can unlock and smash them in the face with it when they try to backstab you. On top of that, you can quickly switch to black flame if you do get a hit, and burn their face off. Due to the fireballs stun from a hit, you'll have enough time to cast Black Flame before they recover, effectively landing you 1k damage in 2 seconds flat.
