Last time I was there they were allowed to sell the good stuff to out of state peeps. My brother got some crazy good mortars. That were absolutely not used in NY by any means. Hopefully they didn't catch on and change the laws in the last few years. I mean, the gigantic fireworks stores one mile ( or less) from the border weren't a giveaway or anything

Hmm odd, I live nearer to the southern border and we have no such stores. 4th of July Maryland runs are something of a tradition. Maybe the north has stores set up for that since the southern border states sell fireworks themselves.

Most likely. You think PA is strict there has been serious debate here about sparklers and black snakes.. I'd have to look up the current legislation but I know at one point they disappeared in expectation of a ban. Yay bang snaps. The official firework of NY

I just checked. Sparklers are ILLEGAL! Selling them is a misdemeanor. Using fireworks of any kind, even an M80 is a lesser violation. Probably why there's not much enforcement. Basically like a traffic ticket for using fireworks. I was sent to a town in NJ to help when I worked at Toys R Us. You could only buy booze at bars and if you wanted to take it home you had to specifically request to purchase "packaged goods." Like a secret society of beer. Of course they charged you bar prices

Yeah we are limited to one six pack per hand and it must be concealed. Otherwise we have to go to beer distributors or state run liquor stores, which up until a couple of years ago were closed Sundays.

Fireworks are very illegal around here, it's so hard to sneak out to the nearby highschool where they have a big fireworks show that the cops attend.

We have farmers who set off professional displays for like half an hour. Can't say as I've ever seen it in the police blotter though
