You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

Post by GrinTwist on Sun Mar 17, 2013 12:54 pm

I've been impaled, decapitated, had too many combos pulled on me in Mortal Kombat, and dead angled too many times than I ca- want to count.

We've all had some odd, disturbing, or violent deaths through out games and I know I'm not the only one that's been dying around here. So list some of your worst and favorite ways you've ever died in a game.

    We would love to know.

Please don't remind me of that story, even though made up is incredibly creepy :|

    Worst ways I've died?

My struggle with the iron golem is one.. I mean repeatedly getting caught by his grab and slam dunked into the darkness below is very demoralising...

Other ball breaking deaths include Seymour fight on gagazet in FFX and the utterly ridiculous difficulty in Air Attack 2.. seriously, *** off.

Fun deaths have to be most of my PvP deaths in Dark souls, and the fact when I played through demons souls the highlights of it were me getting my *** kicked.. lol

I don't really find that many deaths fun, though in Beat em ups like Mortal kombat, tekken etc, barely losing is actually quite a nice mix of frustration and fun at the same time.

I have one that is an incredible show of stupidity on my part.

One time while playing Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour, I had stacked up super weapons, nukes. There was no limit and I was dominating my enemy, I was arrogant and he wanted it to end already. I however wanted to nuke every unit of his, so I waited and when the time came I used the minimap. Click nuke over and over, then clicked his base.

I thought it was his base.

I lost the match, having utterly nuked the *** out of my own base and killing every single one of my own units.

I once met with a fate that (in character) may have been worse than death. In Demons' Souls, I once fell off the bridges in the second zone of Latria. The game glitched and I fell into an infinite white abyss. I quit, reloaded and found myself back on the bridge.
I played Ocarina of Time (in the Nintendo 64) for hours. I had beaten two or three dungeons, killed several of the fleeing poes in Hyrule field and I had not saved yet. I was on Epona and jumped over and fence and I changed direction to a diagonal angle in midair-and I landed on the fence. I was unable to dismount, Epona was only able to walk in place and I couldn't pause-meaning I had to turn the game off without saving.
In a sci-fi-replaced-by-magic dungeons and dragons campaign, my character and most of the rest of the party were entering a planet and parachuting out of the spacecraft. My character had a problem with being a daredevil and decided to wait to open his parachute until the last moment. The DM had me roll an intelligence check to accurately gauge the distance. With ten being average (for a human), I came up with a total of 7. The DM had us roll to see if our parachute's worked. Only mine failed. The DM had me roll a luck roll to survive by some miracle. I rolled a natural 1. (the worst roll possible; that's an auto-fail, or in some groups, as a house rule, including ours, a critical failure) My character turned into a fine red mist as he crashed down the red maple forest.

    Thanks. silly

I thought it was a great way to start a thread about dying in videogames. I just threw in the picture of BEN because I knew someone would remember the creepypasta or do some research on it.

    I succeeded.

It was when I was playing Skyrim. I was climbing up a mountain to get onto a path which would take me to the other side of the mountain, and suddenly, as often happens in Skyrim, a Dragon appeared. I get to the middle section of the mountain to start shooting the dragon full of arrows, only to slip off the mountain, die, and lose 1 1/2 hours of gameplay. sad

Fighting the dragons on a mountainside is the worst. You're exposed, on poor footing, and surrounded by death.

And dragons like mountains so chances are you're going to get those fights more often than not. :|

I was playing Scott Pilgrim the game the movie the game. I was screwing around in the 3rd level and threw a mook. Unfortunately, he flew back towards me and the resulting crash one-shotted my fully leveled up Kim.
