Great Scythe which smithing?

Hey guys, sry if this is the wrong place to write but
I just got the great scythe on lvl 1 pyromancer.
Right now I killed the Minotaur on the bridge and went to the bonfire after the wyvern... Got 25k souls now. 

My question is: With what should I reinforce my Great scythe+5?
I red similar threads where people said "just do it +15" or "chaos 5".. but I want to know whats the best for ME. Im not a pve/pvp only guy.. I like to use pvp as pve at the same time..

I hope you guys can help me.

Well, a SL 1 Pyro can't even use the Great Scythe so I'm not even sure how I should direct you. I guess if you only want to meet minimum requirements I would say go for Chaos+5.

I second that.  If you're staying at a low level, then you'll want it to be elemental.  Go to +10 and then lightning, I guess.  But if you want to level up, this is a weapon that scales well with dex (you can also turn it into a lifehunt scythe once you reach anor londo, and if you have the Soul of Priscilla.  Now that's a nice weapon.

I heared that the Lifehunt scythe sux pretty hard.. im at the dephts at the moment now, scythe still +5.. im lvl 35 now.. I think im going for lvl 50 for my max level

(*EDIT* this assumes you're not investing heavily into int or faith. Divine / Magic is also viable)

If you get 40 dex, go with +15.  If you don't plan on taking dex to 40 (which you probably won't on a SL50 build), keep dex / str at a bare minimum to weild the weapon and upgrade in chaos or lightning.

It is a really, really good weapon. With high Dex it will do more damage then the Great Scythe, it looks amazing and has a good bleed build-up. The only difference is what you can buff the Great Scythe but that thing is already a hard hitter without DMB.

I think I decided to make it Chaos+5.. Well I wasted my Levels for 18-20 dex now, but I think thats not a big failure..

If you kill all the minotaurs where the Chaos ember is.. How do I get the Chaos ember without getting hit (and without using the item from the centipede demon), I always used ring of sacrifice,because I didnt get back after I had the ember ^^

Easiest way for you would be to equip Red Stoneplate Ring and cast Flash Sweat (buy it from Laurentius). I'd also wear full Gold-Hemmed set, although TBH I'm not sure fire resistance affects the lava damage, it seems logical it would so better safe than sorry.
Go around to the far side, and do a running jump towards the pickup, roll when you hit the ground and you should be ontop of it.
Once you pick it up, if you have enough health, just roll back onto safe ground. It would be worth also equipping a Ring of Sacrifice if you have one. Oswald, the merchant up at the Gargoyle Bell Tower sells a few.

Fire resistance does nothing against Lava I guess.. I always went naked in because I got the lowest dmg from that ( but a bit faster).. Im going to try the spell from laurentius out.. but Im getting really slow if I use it, do I?


*Sry.. The spell was a other one.. Well my friend told me the same thing what I thought, If you wear clothes you die even faster

Use a DWGR, during the flip you should be protected from a lot of the lava damage, have a high level of estus and a lot of them. Its not really that hard you just need to flip there, pick up the ember, heal and flip back. Also use the grass shield and a grass buff.

I used the Lifehunt with my dragonbro and regularly struck the bloat-heads in OT for over 1000 damage when using the roar buff.
