    Dueling Grounds Empty Dueling Grounds

Post by Animaaal Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:20 pm

We all know where the established dueling grounds are. This question is posed with the following considerations:

    -No NPCs to bother you.

-Areas would be large enough to accommodate but small enough to not be overwhelming.

-They were as busy as any other established dueling grounds.

*The places listed are just examples of terrain we are all familiar with. Any board can be used as an example, as well as your own versions.

I prefer a simple arena so that I don't have to spend 15 chasing my opponent bounce

I like the Burg and Township because the accepted dueling space is simple and small. I am very aggressive when fighting, and it is much easier for me to overwhelm my opponent in these smaller areas.

I do like fighting in Arty's arena as well to mix things up and since it is so similar to a Greek/Roman arena.

I want an open area where I don't have to worry about the camera having a **** fit when I get too near a tree or other obstacle. Where the terrain is even, so my ripostes connect.

Wow...at 11 votes its all pretty even.

I picked places like Darkroot. The Kiln is also a place I like. However the environment and mechanics of the forest has attracted me time and time again.

I will pick 2 vs 2 any day of the week. I've noticed myself sculpting my builds for that environment as opposed to the traditional 1 vs 1 builds I had been accustomed to making.

I'd also be fine with a "mini Sen's" if you will. I'd love to fight people in that type of environment more often. Somehow the swinging pendulums of death followed by the occasional darts of aggravation in a more "confined" area would be something I would be drawn to. Maybe its the "glutton for punishment" attitude this game has ingrained in my mind lol.

    Thanks for the opinons ya'll!

The Forest is my favorite place for PVP. Like the terrain and environment.

Wow, still really diverse at 18 votes.

More people like unique environments (option 3) than I would have thought at the beginning of this.

Well since this is dueling and not invading I would just say that I like it simple and small and not large.

However, if I'm invading it's a different story. If I was invading I would prefer a place like Sen's where I can use my knowledge of the place to my advantage.

    Dueling Grounds Empty Unique perspective

Post by Paragon Sat Mar 02, 2013 4:15 pm

None of the three choices perfectly aligned with my preferences so I just went with option one since it was closest. I really like dueling and I like variety in my fights so anywhere is just fantastic. Any way my point is that the way I duel is a little different from the norm.

What I do is invade, send the host a message, and then we agree on a location in which to duel. I find it more exciting to invade and then duel because if your summoned for a duel you pretty much know what to expect but if you invade looking for a duel you have no idea what the other guy wants.

When the host messages me back saying he doesn't want to duel, depending on the situation I just BSC out. For example if the person cannot accomplish their goal until I leave, I tell them that they must beat me in order to continue. Like if they are in blight town trying to go to the dragon covenant, I stay. If they are trying to fight Quelagg I leave if and only if they have not rested at the lower blight bonfire. If they have rested at the bonfire, I tell them they must best me in order to proceed to Quelagg.

Not sure about dueling, it's not something I do. But for invasions, I love places with crazy terrain I can shamelessly exploit. Thus, my favorite places are Sen's, Blighttown, Archives/Caves, and Catacombs. I don't always do invasions, but when I do, I prefer maximum trolling. Dueling Grounds 3596227959

Looks like dueling ground preference is more diverse than we think.

I like locations that are easily surveyable. Duels are a test of combatskills, no running, no hiding. Invasions are different, but i rather seldom invade.

edit: yay! pushing burg to top!

The pit. It just feels like home.

Maybe the burg if I feel like hosting and my toon has cleared blighttown.

I still cant believe how even this poll is. Before voting, keep inmind this is for dueling grounds, but if dueling aint your thing, you can vote in any context you want.

I'll stop bumping at 100. Still really shocked how diverse the poll is.
