Weapon switching??

I've been invaded/invaded people using Greatbows as weapons? Like, they actually are a different weapon but LOOK like the GB. Also, it happened with the Demon's Spear. it was swinging like the Washing Pole I want to say... How is this possible??
I've accidently done this a few times and loved running around in PvE with a Claymore that looks like the Zweihander, it wore off rather quickly though. How can it last/WTF is it??

I couldnt catch what you are saying but i believe this is it: You equip a weapon that stays with the moveset of the previous equiped weapon, is this it?



Thats something like the roll, sometimes takes a few seconds to change from fast to mid and vice versa. Is that it?

Situation: I invaded. They were standing at the steps with a Dragonslayer Greatbow, I got closer and they swung it like a 2-handed sword.

its a graphic glitch, doubt they can control it. i have witnessed this glitch when doing Fight club duels with people on this forum like Rant and Reim.

it also appears only the invader sees it, i saw Rant swinging his DGM at me like a Long sword once, he said it looked fine on his end.

few days later i was hosting and i forgot who Reim was dueling but he said Reims DGM looked like a long sword, but the animation was fine for both me the host, and Reim.

Ahh... well the same guy did it to me like 3 times in a row. . . I think somethings a foot here. . .

This animation glitch occurs when you arrive to a world in which somebody is two-handing their weapon. If that person is two-handing their weapon, it will appear to be held in one hand and when they swing it it will use the two-handed Longsword's R1 and R2, but I think it keeps the running and rolling attack of the original weapon.

In Demon's Souls, this happened very consistently. In Dark Souls, there might be some additional condition or element of randomness to it, because I have found it to be far less common. Its uncommonness might just be because two-handing is less common in Dark Souls than it was in Demon's Souls, though.

To avoid it, the person whose weapon appears to be glitched just has to either switch weapons, or switch between 2H and 1H.

Ahh, okay, that'd make sense. I usually 2H when noones around. >_>
