So how many of you think..
Dark Souls 2 will be a step by step rpg with little question marks on npc's heads and a huge map on the corner of the screen?

Re: So how many of you think..
It'll never happen. FromSoftware is too ingrained in their ways to actually "casualize" a game. Although people might take offense to this, I think they're too inept to streamline an entire game. Let's also not forget what they did with the Dark Souls DLC. The DLC was far from being easy and there were tons misleading rumors and statements made about it. People even said it was going to have voice chat; turns out FromSoftware's idea of voice chat is communication stones.

I'm anxious to see the final result, but I'm fairly certain that that will not happen.

Re: So how many of you think..
If the DLC is any sign, then DkSII has the chance to be the hardest souls game we've seen. Of course, the DLC might not have been hard to everyone, but I still have yet to beat Manus (though it didn't help that I had low vit and he one hit KOed me). From has absolutely no reason to just ditch all of their loyal fans, and they have had quite a few instances where they've gone out of their way to please us, so I doubt they'll do anything stupid to lose most of us

Re: So how many of you think..
Not a chance. I had a dream/nightmare where this happened, but in real life I'm not at all concerned.
If anyone is worried just look to the DLC, which they were probably working on at the same time as DkS2. Ferocious bosses, awesome level design, classic Souls atmosphere (admittedly not Tower of Latria worthy, but still Souls worthy), and probably the toughest mobs in the game.
I have a feeling 2013 is going to feel like a very, very long year....
*EDIT* Didn't read the whole thread. Guess I mean to say I agree with good King Wenceslas above.

Everyone is as usual, assuming a tonne of things from virtually no information.
No wonder gamers get screwed over so much, they have no patience whatsoever.

Re: So how many of you think..
If you look at From's history you'll realize that a casual "streamlined" mainstream game is the last thing they're going to do. I wouldn't worry at all guys.
Edit: Although I wouldn't mind a map....

How many of these threads must be made? It was just one cutscene trailer that literally told us nothing other than you receive a feather at some point, and maybe kill a dragon -_-

I can't really decide if I like what I read until I read it. Very well though, have fun.

Calm the *** down, we all said the same **** about Dark Souls and it ended up being twice as hard as Demon's Souls even after all the patches to make it easier.

Basically as long as Miyazaki is supervising we can remain calm. If at any point we hear he quit his supervising role, then you may have permission to panic.

You gotta remember though that he isn't the guy with last rule, though his job position is something to look at to see progress

yes but as long as he's still willing to look over it we can assume its conforming to his view of it. If he suddenly quits we know they've changed something radically.

Re: So how many of you think..
I am also afraid that this will be a story-based RPG where you play as a set character. LIke Dragon Age. And then I will lose my faith in videogames. Because Dark Souls is the optimum of a game for me. It the exact opposite of all the crappy COD and Assassins Creed ( I like the first game) ****.
Just the opposite of mainstream and still better.

Well, I don't see how that makes sense.
A supervisor would actually have final say over a director.

Supervisory role is basically just keeping him on hand in case things go horribly out of control, he's not gonna be shaping the souls game by rejecting everything the directors propose

So, then you're positing that they're not actually using him in a supervisory role at all?

Re: So how many of you think..
I'm very worried mostly because it's clear that they are investing much more on it, i fear the pressure for sales will end cutting mechanics from the game that we like, but most gamers don't, griefing and unclear paths for example.

I just outlined a supervisor role, only overseeing and stepping in when necessary, not having any significant or large influence on the final outcome of the project
