the crystal general

Sorry if a thread about this has been posted recently, but there's a hostile NPC in the Duke's Archives that I'm curious about. I am of course talking about the so-called "crystal general" found right before the first encounter with Seath. Is there any lore regarding him? The description of his armor doesn't say much about him at all, so I'm curious if anyone else has been able to find anything about him elsewhere.

It could very well be that he's just an arbitrary enemy placed in the game with no lore implications unlike Havel, but I'm interested in hearing your opinions.

I think there was no lore on him included, regardless of whether there was orinally going to be or not.

Well, the game's item description for the crystal armour states that it is worn by a hollowed knight.

I don't think it's anything massively important, probably just an undead knight who went to the archives. If you consider the position where you face him, it is quite possible that the knight was also trying to gain access to Seath's chamber.

He probably hollowed whilst in the archives and was corrupted by Seath's crystal magic. Seath probably decided to leave him where he was to deter other intruders.

He, as well as all the crystal skeletons, could just have been servants from an age long past.

Seathe was made a Duke. Which means he was very wealthy, and thus well taken care of. The Crystal Warrior may have been the head of his guard? Seathe himself probably didn't need a guard, but his land and estate would have.

He just looks so cool, I feel like most people really want him to be someone important just based on that, and his unique positioning in the Archives.
