I'm trying to comprehend what happened in those 4 seconds.

    - You got hit from behind (you can see the indication that your side had registered the hit), but did not stagger.
    - You get hit a second time, stagger, but you backstab him from his side before you get pushed off.

I think you benefited from some heavy lag there, but I don't care. Serves that guy right. That's disgusting tactics.Point Down

Can't blame the host if he was trying to go through the level. I wouldn't be fond of someone trying to kill me as I progress through the level either. At least, that is what it seems. If they were ganking or anything like that, then Tomb would not have been looking for them, rather running away or waiting. Seemed more like an improvised plan to deal with an opponent with minimum sacrifices.

I guess. Though I agree Tomb shouldn't have buffed before meeting his opponent, that suggests that you plan on attacking right way and skipping all the formalities.

I'll say though, that even when I'm going through the level I always try to set up in a friendly area for a fight while I wait for my invader, and I never heal.

Well, in invasions, I'm 85% sure that your opponent will take advantage of your friendliness and stab you in the back. If you invade me, I expect you to pull out all the stops and you, as an invader, should expect the same. Cause I don't want you here and you know it...

How can they backstab me if I have my back covered and I know what way(s) the invader will have to be coming from?

Well, if you are getting backstabbed, then you'll be TWoP'ed. If you aren't getting TWoP'ed, you're getting sniped. If you aren't getting sniped, you're letting them prepare an ambush. A real (or good) invader would NEVER agree to fair grounds, the name of the game is gaining the upper hand through any tactic possible. That is what gives invasion a different charm than dueling.

elevator ambushes are actually pretty popular on both sides of the eye orb... had a red who went down the elevator then timed it so that when he came back up his obsidian great sword r2 would activate and hit me... i rolled through it and then he fell of when the elevator went back down...

In the short time the DLC has been out I have already learned to never use that elevator.

I have been shot off that platform by dragon slayer arrows, hit with Wrath, Force and Fire Tempest there, lol.

    Gankers LOVE that spot.

If I invade someone, there is no fair fight, if you bow, I will backstab you(Gotten some really vicious hate mail). But then again, I expect the person I invaded to do no less but use every method at their disposal to win, including traps, estus chugging, summoning blues, or whatever. No quarter is shown, but none is expected either, and I think that is how From Software intended for this to be, honestly. The ones who can't cope with that should just play offline, or stay hollow.

Taking your eyes off your enemy and showing them the top of your head is bad manners.

No its not. This isnt a matter of life and death its a videogame. You dont need to do anything it takes to win because if you lose there are no consequences especially if you are the invader.

Absolutely. It's much more classy to hit them in the head with a bow or fire off a a powerful sorcery that casts quickly.

There's a certain charm to hitting someone at range while they gesture. BS is good too, but an aimed bow shot to the head is more comical. That way, if they complain you could even respond with an Unreal Tournament "HEAD SHOT" sound byte if you have your laptop nearby.

Backstabs are less creative and can be done at any time :p.
