    Crystalline set Empty Crystalline set

Post by Eisen Sat Nov 10, 2012 2:43 pm

In what build would you actually use this set? I really like the looks of it but the stats look terrible. If I compare it with the Ornstein's set (for the convenience, as it's listed right above it), Ornstein's set is just slightly heavier yet all the stats are almost double that of Crystalline set. Are the numbers on wiki wrong, is there something extra to the set or is it really just a terrible set to wear?

It probably just exists for the sake of existing, just like some other armorsets do. I have heard people say that it doesn't emit sound (like the slumbering dragon crest ring), but that's probably just a myth.

I've recently used it to sneak through the Royal Wood on my many journeys to the Artorias fight. It doesn't make any noise and coupled with the Fog Ring the mobs never know you're there. I swopped to Havel's gear before entering the fog door though, not that it made any difference, I still got beaten to a pulp (I sucked at this fight and had to summon in the end). If you do intend using it, make sure you have the Repair spell though because you can't repair it the normal way at a bonfire.

    Yes you can Slake.
You CAN repair the crystal set via bonfire or blacksmith. :face:
    It's just more expensive.

But really,I love the crystal set,you look sexy, you're awesome and you have good defense/poise.

I don't know, the Crystalline set makes the wearer look a little too much like a scarecrow for my liking, which is why I've always shied away from it in the past.

It makes you like a badass crystal tune Sorcerer!

And it's perfect for Seath's crystal warrior cosplay.

I used to use Crystalline Gauntlets in one of my armour combos.

They gave the best defence without taking me over the (25%) equip load limit.

You're quite right. I stand corrected. It's the crystal weapons you can't repair at a bonfire etc.
