Karma does exist!

Back in "the day" I decided I loved Demon's Souls enough to get my first Platinum Trophy for PS3. This went pretty smoothly until.....Pure Bladestone. I was home for four weeks (yay FMLA for dads) with my three month old daughter and figured I could finish the game as she was a connoisseur of sleeping most of the day. It took me most of these four weeks to get one Pure Bladestone, with pretty constant playing. I initially had a couple of things to take care of along with this last item so I would work on the bladestone, do something else, then come back. As a point of reference for myself I started to level up with souls only from the bladestone runs. I went from sl 150ish to about 270 after going to exclusively nothing but bladestone runs. When it finally did drop I'm surprised I let the message stay on the screen as I couldn't believe this item really did exist.

Enter Dark Souls....even before opening the game I vowed to get another Platinum if this turned out to be as fun as Demon's. I personally have had just as much fun.

After discovering at least one slab of each color available in my first playthrough I almost laughed at how easy this could end up being. Then I looked at the list of Knight's Honor weapons and saw comparisons online between the Pure Bladestone and the Channeler's Trident. Uh oh!

Last night was the night I planned to start this horror. I was in NG+ with only this, Greatlord Sword and Cursed Sword of Artorias left. So all I need in NG++ is the soul of Gwyn which I would have and Soul of Sif (no problem) and to get to Anor Londo. Seeing I could kill the Channeler's in two quick hits I was ready to grind.

I set up camp at the bonfire overlooking the courtyard to the Crystal Cave and started work. I killed my first three Channeler's....no trident....still pumped....I got this! I homeward boned it back to the fire. I clear the way to the first channeler by the stairs/archers. He goes down without a fight, I'm officially in killing groove. I work my way back up to the second channeler. Thanks to Slumbering Dragoncrest he's dead before he know there's a problem! Wait a minute! Is that corpse all glowified? Five Channelers? I only had to farm five Channelers? Let me get this straight....I got a freakin' trident after only FIVE CHANNELERS? YAHOOOOOOO!

Take that Pure Bladestone.

Nice... I accidentally gave mine to Frampt in NG because I wasn't planning on getting the plat w/ this char. Luckily I got someone to give me a trident.

PLEASE READ THIS It's impossible to get the platinum of Dark Souls unless you reach NG++, take into account that Gwyn's Soul has 2 uses: Great Lord Sword and the Sunlight Spear. While Sif's Soul has 3 USES: Greatshield of Artorias, Greatsword of Artorias AND CURSED Greatsword of Artorias (you need to have both versions of the Sword for the trophy). Also you need to reach Anor Londo in NG++ because you need to forge those Demon Weapons and only the giant blacksmith can.

Yup. I finished the covenant work in NG+ (just gotta kill Gwyn to get to NG++) so I could get sunlight spear. Since I knew I had to reach the Giant Blacksmith with Soul of Sif I left the greatsword to NG++. As a side note since I brought up covenants I was also really lucky with souvenirs of reprisal. I harvested in Ariamis with a Lifehunt (man those harpies can BLEED). I got eight in less than twenty minutes and already had two. I quit there but managed to find two more on the way out.

If you are trying to say that Skarekrow13 is lying, you didn't read his whole post I guess.

Before you post something like this, make sure you read everything. Even if he didn't do NG++, the only thing he really needs to do himself is the Miracle, he could have gotten the items given to him.

Thanks Meridam. I'm guessing it was either a misinterpretation of what I wrote or a quick read. As you pointed out above, I was trying to say that I was prepping for NG++ as (if you get all the items yourself without BB glitch) that is the earliest platinum is possible. To clarify, I intended to say Gwyn's souls I would already have, as to get to NG++ you kinda have to get it and Sif is, for me, one of the easiest bosses in the game. I am not worried about a third showdown. with the puppy.

yeah, the plat in dark is so easy to get compared to demons's, i never got the plat on demon's cause i dont care about trophies but i got the pat in dark without even trying. also, i got the trident on my first playthrough from the channeler in the depths and when i did the dance i couldnt stop laughing.

The Trident dance really is the best thing!

I don't know how many achievements/trophies can be spread over different characters, but I know for sure that at least some can. After I platinumed DS on PS3, I felt like I should also go for all the xbox achievements, so I started a new character and got the Wisdom of a Sage to pop before I got the white dragon breath spell on this character (I had the spell on another char).

I equipped it just to dance once and now it shall be largely ignored. Until I get the platinum that is. Then this and many other items shall be donated to Mildred.

Sorry, guess I missed that part. But meridam, I was talking about getting the platinum without help. Obviously you can even get it in NG if someone gave you all the items and the Soul of Gwyn.

I took out 50+ Channelers with 410 Item discovery and still no trident.

Keep plugging and if it gets to be too much I know there'll be one at Mildred's soon

You'd still have to complete atleast 2 playthroughs for the endings.
