Grab escape

Has anyone ever compiled a list of grab attacks that can be escaped or resisted? Like, the Centipede Demon and the...tentacle...pod...thing can have their grab attacks completely negated, the ents and slimes have their grab attacks severely nerfed and the titanite demon...well, I'm not sure, it always seems to bludgeon me to death anyways...

Ps: What buttons do you have to press specifically to make a grab escape. Cause all I do is just spam EVERY SINGLE button on my controller to make the escape.

Spam R1 & R2 (light attack & block) to escape.

Can not escape ghosts, darkwraiths, four kings. Can not remember more atm. I once posted a link to a thread about this.

Gwyn has a grab, also the female serpent people have grab attacks.

And the Blighttown people.

don't forget nito, and the gaping dragon and the clams and i guess manus sort of has one (that one where he dribbles you like a ball) and kalameets grab attack too (flailing doesn't work on that one...)

Is it possible spamming will reduce the damage of the grab? I was caught in Kalameet's grab in NG+ but button mashed and received less than a third of my health as dmg, with about 40 vit and high magic defense.

Yes, and I believe that's how it works in most situations. Damage is reduced from most normal grab attacks but not canceled entirely. But with the Centipede Demon and maybe another attack or two, the damage can be prevented 100%.

I once had the damage reduced 100% on Kalameet, but it hasn't happened again sicne. Other times it seems like it does less damage, other times it seems like nothing happens and I get hurt the full amount. I mash buttons every time now and I don't get why it seems inconsistent. It always seemed to work consistently on the slimes and crow demons when I tried it on them.

He's also forgot about the butchers, don't think you can escape/reduce their attack either.

Do any of the enemies in the dlc have grab attacks, apart from kalameet?

I was always under the impression that pressing B/O helped to escape from a grab.
