    Ok, here is my situation;

When I am the Township I usually see 3 or 4 summon signs average. Today ALL of the ones I tried to summon failed. I tried like 20 times. I know Dark Souls isn't the best online game regarding to connectivity, but this is just hilarious.

My nat is wide open, connection with other games is just fine (often host). So I know it has something to do with the game, what can I do?

I think I quit dark souls because it's ruining my fun (I like to coop and play online).

So maybe I am going to Borderlands 2 again (works great), but I really hope someone has some advice what I can do?

Thanks for any tips/help. I really appreciate it.

My Upload speed is 5.0 Mbps/ Ping is around 20ms/ Download 40 Mbps. That should be more than enough.

I don't know, I just think there are so many people playing in the DLC areas these days that as soon as you put down your sign, millions of people instantly try to summon you.

They could have been summoned before you got the chance to summon them. That or they refreshed their summon sign. Either way you can see a summon sign which is not available anymore, and if you attempt to summon them it will obviously fail because they've already summoned or refreshed their summon signs.

Today I got a new modem from my ISP. And WOW! I see at least 5-10 summon signs by each bonfire, I get invaded all the time. So it was definately on my end THIS time.

Never saw 10 summon signs at once before! What a gorgeous sight :-)

Thanks for all the tips and help though! Very much appreciated.

Lol @bcc17 for that last picture, that's how I felt indeed...

And what Ryanoa and Mrtart say is absolutely also true.

I don't know. I have a ps3 and xbox, dark souls on both.

Dark souls for the xbox I've had far fewer issues, although I haven't tried it after the DLC.

I put my ps3 on the DMZ after thought there was some issue with UPnP or port forwarding; so I've tried all 3. In any case, still seems like network issues sad

Hmmz, I have disabled my upnp (advice from some people who know technical stuff) . It's mainly for mics anyway, when I turned it off and placed my ps3 in a dmz the connection was far better.

There is discussion about upnp, but for me disabling it helped a lot!

@Mark; don't try to change too many things/settings, because dark souls will always stay finicky regarding to summoning etc. I love the game and I hope they will use a better netcoding (or as with Dem Souls dedicated servers). That makes the experience so much better.

Yeah, I did that as well. I'm very comfortable changing things, I work in IT. MTU I'm still fuzzy how that affects everything (I have a general idea), but everything else I'm solid.
