Small rant.
A lot of times, I see a new host to the game summon some phantoms, and then they just blast through the level, running ahead with a lightning +5/Chaos+5 BB glitched weapon, killing everything.
I don't see how this is fun for the host. How is it different then opening up a console window and typing /godmode /infiniteammo?
Also, they show all the secrets, or dropping a super powerful weapon on them.
I want to know:
1) Is this fun for any host? Is there any host out there that wants this...? I'm specifically referring to a first or second playthrough, not when you're just trying to actively blast through a level.
2) Do people realize they may be spoiling the hosts fun? Sure, there's the argument that the host doesn't need to use the weapon, but if they're new and stuck (dark souls will make you stuck the first times through) they're very likely to pull out that weapon and go to town.
When I coop, I try to keep a mediocre weapon, appropriate for the level I'm cooping in. So for parish/gargoyle fight, a +3 or +4 weapon. Depths, +5, or +6. Blight town, +6. And so on. Same with armour. Doesn't feel fun if I'm just totally overpowered for an area, sucks the life out of the game.
I know a lot of people will disagree, because I see a ton of people on XBox live with gear not appropriate for the area they're in. People invading in the parish with DWGR and end game armour and such.
