DLC compatibility question no spoilers included

Guys I was thinking today (I usually leave that out of my routine lol), and wanted to know how will consoles users who purchase dlc be able to play with those who do not purchase it.

I believe we all will have to download the new patch if we get online, but will this enable everyone to use the new gear? for example, could one get all the new stuff and then give it away to someone who did not buy dlc?

...this is a really interesting question, and one that is difficult to answer.

Only thing i can say is when i tested the elite knight set poise.. when trading from one person to another, there was no such thing as a piece from an EU guy with higher poise, or lower poise from america, the stats simply changed depending on which guy was holding the armour.

I think this kind of principle will occur to guys without the patch. if you pick it up, it will return to what your game picks it up as, i.e. either it will disappear, or when you pick it up, it will simply not be equipable, as on your game it doesn't exist. These are just the two options if we can pick the new items up, however.

I personally think we will simply not be able to see items that are dlc only when dropped or we won't be able to pick them up.. however the pain we get from the new equipment will be very much tangible
