Turtling behind a shield with Ricard's is actually pretty effective...that's why I dislike others that use it hehehe.

in terms of combo it's unlikely you'll ever get to use that R2 to full effect, but it can turtle behind a shield) (but range is low for that, and attack quickly before a dodge, so it's useful if you like a nimble chipping health sort of character with a bit of turtle mixed in.

It is definitely hard to land the entire r2 combo from ricards, unless your enemy has some low poise. If you do, it is devastating though. I hate the 20 dex req though, so on my elemental builds if I want to use a rapier, I just use the standard rapier. More bs damage from it anyway. No problem if your a dex build though.
