Hidden Truth Behind Solaire`s Story Ark (Spoilers!!!)

I just realized this guys, and here it goes:

Solaire is clearly a spiritual seeker or practitioner. He tells the player that he is looking for his own Sun, which is obviously a metaphor for the attainment of enlightenment. I am very confident with this claim. Enlightenment is a concept rooted very deep in Buddhism, which is one of the most popular religions in Japan. Even if the developers are not Buddhists, this is something that`s embedded into their culture.

Now, bear with me:
I am a spiritual practitioner, and in our group we handle the concept of the chakras (energy centers within the body). There are 7 major chakras (or 11, some practices see these 4 more as worthy of being included there). Now, there is a "hidden" 8th (or 12th) chakra. The location of this chakra? A few inches above the head... what peculiar thing do you remember about Solaire when you meet him in Izalith? He has a bright light a few inches above the head...

To the point!!! My spirtual Master warned us very clearly against the premature activation of this hidden chakra, because if the person is not ready, it might cause madness. This is the reason why the location of this chakra was kept secret for many centuries.

When you meet Solaire after Centipede, he is very depressed because he has not found "it" yet (enlightenment), so he tries to bypass the natural course of spiritual evolution with artificial means (the aid of the Sunlight bug), which activates his hidden chakra and makes him crazy.

So yeah, Solaire`s story is that of the fall of a spiritual seeker, because of lack of patience. Which ties masterfully with the game`s theme about light falling into darkness.

A warning: Do not, under any circumstance, think you are so cool, so sexy, so badass and so awesome, that you are going to google search the chakras, how to activate them, and then go for the hidden chakra. Please do not do it. I do not want this post to be the cause of a tragedy.

You may be new around here (as am I) but the logical conclusion and use of real world knowledge helps put into perspective what seems to be the moral of Solaire's story. This could all easily be very coincidental, but logically speaking, it sounds like a good possibility.
As of now, I don't really have any arguments to the idea you presented, so perhaps some other members may have a few cents they can throw in on this idea.

I always thought of Solaire's story as pretty simple. Good-natured man bites off more than he can chew, gets frustrated, abuses shortcuts, pays dearly for it.

Put like that, doesn't it sound a little bit like the story of Icarus?

Anyways, now off to google how to unlock the hidden chakra

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, but then of course, we have the mystery of the pendant, one of the deepest gaming mysteries I've seen, so it makes this idea seem a bit more reasonable.

Yes, now that you mention it, it is at the core the same story as Icarus`. It can be seen from a mythological point of view, for those uncomfortable with eastern mysticism. But it is the same truth at the very core. The writers of this game are such refined artists...

Either way, it has still been something that has sparked the curiosity and minds of the players. I believe there is more to it, but thats my opinion. If its a red herring, no harm, no foul, I laugh it off and go on. This is beyond the point though, I was using it as a way to support Polaris' idea ^^

How does the pendant ties to this? I`m not seeing it...

No no no, I'm not saying it ties into Solaire's story specifically, but I was using it as support to help prove you theory about From putting deep meaning into various things in the game that people discover on their own. The pendant has nothing to do with Solaire.

That is some concrete stuff (somehow Dark Souls just sounds like Naruto now...) at least now we have a solid reason on why did the man went bananas after finding his sun, well done man!

about the pendant... JOIN THE QUEST i think it was intended to be related to solare or his patron the 1st born god of war. possibly it was dropped from the game making the pendant useless. still i search avidly
