Re: why namco? why?
Agreed with dough.... but as I see it... or saw it walking up my hill after coming back from the bar.... all the Namco has succeeded in doing is making players opt for the cheaper PC version vs the slightly more expensive PS3 version with the DLC..... now Im probably way off here but..... the PC gamers could perhaps have waited until the 25th Oct as they wouldnt have know what they were missing..... consolers did.
But hey im just glad some people got a DLC for this game. Knew Gaming and ENB and doing a sweet job.... Im kind of living vicariously through them!

Re: why namco? why?
Wasn't it always supposed to be an October release, though?
I mean, believe me, this hurts me as much as any other Dark Souls fan. But we always knew the PC version would launch first, with the new content, then the console versions would get the DLC in October...
I would be ecstatic if I could get the DLC tomorrow, and the wait is going to be excruciating on me too, but let's not make a big deal out of something we have no control over. Seriously, think about it: how long does it take to get a petition going; for it to be acknowledged; for it to take effect, if/ when it does? Even if we do get this petition off the ground today, at this date, it'd maybe get the DLC released a day sooner!
It sucks that the die-hard souls fans are treated this way, and I detest Namco for it (seriously, wtf has Namco done, other than publish an obviously incredible game; if not slightly tarnish its incredibility?), but we may as well be patient at this point. We're all in this together (except those who have gaming rigs...), so let's tough it out together! And if all else fails, remember: as amazing as it is, it's a game; life goes on, and before you know it the DLC will be out.
(Please excuse my preaching style... I get this way when I'm inebriated.)

Re: why namco? why?
There seems to be a huge misconception that it is going to be released Oct25th, that doesn't sound bad compared to the official announcement from namco bandai of "winter/Dec". I prompted to do this when it was first announced, but pretty much got shot down. I want an official date, its pretty much a f*** you to the fans. I don't care if they wanted to sell more copys, this was a greedy way to go about it. It just disrespects the fans who already had bought the game day 1.
I keep hearing people tell me "well pc had to wait a year", ummm technically they didnt, they could have gone out and bought a console to play it. Just like im apparently expected to buy a powerful pc just to play this DLC, without waiting four months. We are basically being forced out of the forums we frequent just because of spoilers. By time the DLC comes out for consoles there will be nothing left for us to discuss, it will already have all been discovered and discussed. The petition is mainly to just tell namco bandai that they made a big mistake by being greedy, and have upset a lot of loyal customers. Regardless of what happens, i will be buying namco bandai games used or pirated. .

We all knew that paying for the DLC was coming, it was just a question of how much.

Re: why namco? why?
I don't think any of use cared about the price. It's being expected to invest in a new computer, in order to play the new content in a timely fashion, that has us upset. Fromsoft knows how important that initial discovery of everything is to the fans. I'm to the point where i might not even buy the DLC. They must understand that everything is posted on the internet, im sure IGN will even have some article about the new content. It causes that 15$ to look a lot less fair of a price. Cause its not "new" content in four months.

The biggest parts for me, I'm pretty sure everyone knows how important community is to me.

I agree with Tolvo so instead I just jumped into the DLC content. i dont want to know how to do things but if I can discuss the cool aspects of if then Im totally fine.

You guys go ahead and be fine with that. I don't give my money to companys who dont think about their customers. So good thing so many games are coming out i guess.......I would rather play dark souls.

Im not really fine with it but I like to be up to date..... essentially Ive been forced to ruin my first DLC experience vs the staying in the dark and losing all possible opportunity to be the first to figure something out....

Re: why namco? why?
I'd say people are already missing out from the lack of proper lore searching going on with the new content, if only one of the members of the Archives had the PC version.

Re: why namco? why?
Couldn't namco have just released the pc port after the dlc released? I mean namco expect people to pay a lot of money for a good pc vs pc gamers who would pay a small $150 dollars for a console.

Re: why namco? why?
Yeah I understand some of the reasoning peopl put forward for the content being on the PC early.... but in the end if they want to leave it 2- 4 months why not just not release the DLC at all and front up about screwing console players over.... the 10,000 people who signed that petition should all be buying copies now.... i just struggle to understand th buisness strategy behind this move.

Re: why namco? why?
Im not sure we are petitioning in the right place. Im getting a bunch of signatures together right now but I think someone needs to take the link to the petition the the same guys who got the PC port. The channels to FromSoft are still open
