Dark Souls is insidious

I'm on vacation and too poor to go anywhere, so during some of my evenings I'm turning a bandit into a lvl 70 gravelord to better participate with the Gravesworn. My plan is to use the gravelord sword. A weapon I have never used or even fought against. I could really suck with it. The game has decided to test my resolve.

Upper burg. A DW invades and plays with me and my +1 spiked mace, then drops a +5 electric server and BCs out. Ugh!! I can't use it anyway, so I box it. Whisper: It has the same stat requirement as the gravelord sword.....

Parish. On my way to kill the gargoyles with my now +5 spiked mace. DW invades and kills me with electric katana. Second try, same DW invades, but drops +5 silver knight shield, 20 humanity, and +10 flaming claymore. BCs out with a wave. I make short work of the gargoyles with the claymore and invaders no longer find me easy prey. Whisper: You don't need a 24 str anymore. Put those points to better use.....

Undead Garden. Kill black knight and he drops the black knight halberd. I box it. Whisper: You have never had this weapon before.....

Catacombs. I reach my goal. Become a gravelord and possess the gravelord sword. With great will power I box the flaming claymore of everything killing. I use my one demon titanite and my gravelord sword is +1. I finish cleaning out the catacombs with it and when I kill the black knight it drops the black knight great axe. The holy grail of weapons. The biggest pain in my behind when facing an opponent. I have never had my hands on it before. Whisper: You can two hand it right now.....

Ugh!!!!!!!!! I box it. Damn this game is hard. Fortunately I'm good with the gravelord sword. With some practice, I'll get a lot better.

Enjoyed reading this, though it seems more suited to general discussion rather than pvp. I know how you feel though!

...not once has an invader dropped anything for me, in fact, no one has dropped anything for me. I feel deprived.

2 things.

1) best. Avatar. Ever.

2) it's probably a good thing, because you get to learn more bout the gear you have. Though I do drop humanity for peeps I re-invade.

But this is going to be a pvp character.... and the Gravesworn are a pvp guild. :oops:
