Jk, probably all the damn walking, everything after placing the lord vessel, all the glitches, the fact that there is a prelit bonfire in front of the E. dragon with no explanation, and the wonky mechanics of the gravelord covenant.

I've never used Bloodred Moss for anything, especially since it has only one reason for existing.

Um because all the prelit bonfires have firekeepers next to them?

Good point, actually. Wouldn't the player become the Fire Keeper for all of the bonfires that he/she lights?

We don't naturally create humanity like the firekeepers do, though we sort of act like a surrogate firekeeper in game.

On the no bonfire runs people are doing, they aren't liting any bonfires and there are four that are prelit- firelink shrine, anor londo, the white lady, and the e. dragon (the only one without a firekeeper).

Are you sure? That would probably be a first and important to the people doing a no bonfire run since they're trying to figure out a way to extinguish that bonfire.

I've read all the posts on this thread and all I can say is 'WHAT AN UNGRATEFUL WHINGEING LOT WE ARE!'. We're gifted one of the most innovative, challenging and addictive games ever and we're still not satisfied.

I'm surprised that anyone's playing it at all.

I do agree with that statement I must say, however, we all suffer from the human condition.......

We're ungrateful, hypocrites, abusive people hiding behind happy smiles while ***** to each other about how we hate when things don't go our way. Maybe we're the worst part of Dark Souls.

It's so fitting, it's like a 4th grade book report on Catcher in the Rye, and how Holden really "Knew" the world.

If you don't complain, someone will take longer to get better. My well thought out post had good points to it, and I hope they will keep thoughts like that in mind if they intend to change it, make DLC, or make a new game. Complaining is a good way to help make games better, not complaining is like saying its perfect.

Gwyn. The most disappointing boss in the entire game. Not visually impressive, his soul doesn't get you a godlike weapon, and he's either the most ******** boss in the entire game with his high damage and abilities designed purely to piss you off, or you quickly learn to parry him and beat him in under a minute. I expected something really legendary after the Lord Souls and the epic Kiln area, and what do I get? A pansy in a skirt with a magic sword and bad timing.

Gwyn was the equivalent of Allant, basically. Kind of shows how far has he fallen.

King Allant was such a better bad guy than Gwyn.

Allant at least had a reason for being and you had a reason for wanting to stop him. Gwyn is a poor boss, not because he is a terrible fight, but because he has no motivation and you don't really have a reason to want to kill him, so your final victory ends up feeling somewhat hollow.

Allant was interesting though, even if he did go slugmode. False King Allant was a legitimately fun boss, and the actual Allant 'boss' was more an ending of an era. It was a truly epic ending too. Dark Souls' ending feels lacklustre, as both options don't feel satisfying.

Isn't that the point though? When fighting Gwyn, you realize that no matter what you do, the world will either end up worse off than before, or you'll simply prolong it's inevitable descent into darkness. You ultimately can't win, and you should feel sorry for the pathetic empty husk of a former god, but you have to kill him and you have to decide the world's fate, no matter how terrible it may be.

EDIT: On another note, ever wonder why Gwyn's theme sounds like this and not like this, this, or this? Mood setting is everything.

This is just making DS seem more and more depressingly pointless...
