That's what bugs me the most, I keep being invaded by Havels with the scythe two handed spam attacking me until I bleed. I can roll and roll and sneak in a hit or two but given that I'm usually naked or half naked I can never win a battle of attrition. Is there any legit way to go against this tactic?

Ill start of by saying I don't intentionally do PVP, reason being I don't like it. I do however, seem to get invaded nonstop every time I'm human, and the one thing that really irks me is that stupid Lifehunt scythe. How does it make you bleed if you block it, especially with the GSOA?

I actually tried that on the battle that resulted in this thread. That seems to only work on the special players.

Poison them. What good will spamming a stamina heavy weapon when you're draining too much at once?

The trick is to learn to roll through the bleed. Any weapon that does deal damage through your shield (say with lightning, fire, or magic), it does effect you normally, which is terrible design in PvP, the Greatshield of Artorias suffers greatly for that reason. It does help with poison, but that's not your problem. Red Moss is a great help, or you can try the Bloodshield, but I feel, unless you're undead or offline, PvP is kinda a part of the game, you could try a co-op play through, to help you pick up some basic PvP tips to help you get past the invader that comes on in.
The Way of White comment, is that true? I've heard that, but I don't think any testing has been done for that?

Parry.
It's not a very difficult weapon to parry, and in a way, you have nothing to lose by trying! From the sounds of it, as soon as you get invaded by someone wielding the weapon, they kill you. So if you're guaranteed to die, may as well try your luck! A parry can turn pretty much any defeat into victory. Keep a lightweight weapon with a high critical in your second right hand slot, so you can quickly switch to it, and swap a ring for the Hornet's when you get invaded. If you need to learn how to parry in PvP, there are very good videos on youtube, and many threads with helpful tips on these forums.

Shoulder, got it. As for the running moves, most people I face do instant run, so that will be a lot trickier.

If you don't want to get bled, don't get hit. It's not a terribly hard weapon to avoid, as bleed is really designed to get around turtles, so as long as you stay mobile you shouldn't have to worry excessively about bleed.
Also since the way bleed damage is applied to your character is the same as a normal hit, you can dodge bleed by rolling as your bar hits the top, avoiding the bleedout by being in an i-frame as the damage is applied

I was reluctant to make a complaining type post, but now just look at me!
Not only did I actually get some useful advice from at least two people, I also now hold the prestigious and perhaps immortal honor of being the 1,800',001 poster. Awesome. Sheer freaking absolute ridiculous insane awesome stinking awesomeness.

I also have to say, I faced a couple Chaos Blades and Lifehunt Scythe's, as long as they are using the Bloodshield, you can fight more toe to toe and force them to stop attacking, the ones with the Gargoyle's Tail Ax in the off hand (as I sillyly suggested to the guy I beat), are much more dangerous. I beat him effortlessly later in Moonlight Butterfly area, when I could lock on with some range, with my bow (tip tip). But most importantly I also had to say, the Greatshield of Artorias, while not a bad shield, is so jank, the 5 or 6 times I fought weapons that could not be buffed and did just normal damage, the bleed still came through. I'm so disappointed that 1 of the 3rd most heavy shields doesn't work properly, anyway, don't expect it to protect you, it should, but it won't.
