I don't see a problem with it, infact I do it a lot with poison arrows when I am co-oping with strangers who are just trying to beat the level. If the host and his other phantom are chasing down an invader I usually pull out my bow and practice aiming until the situation gets ugly enough that I feel I should step in to protect the host better, IE: in the case of a BS fisher, and my poor archery.
I'd never do it during a hosted duel though. I tend to just shoot at pots if its an actual 1v1 duel.
