So when you darkmoon a weapon, or sunlight it, or reisen it. It shows. But how come when you upgrade it nothing changes? I'd really like to see my divine claymore have a twing of white aimbient glow coming off it. Or my lightning spear to have little sparks dancing around the tip. The lightning soear was probably alot of peopls first elemental weapon thats memorable. Or the divine club perhaps, but i remember being very disapointed at the lack of visual affect.

Highly doubt there is even a remote chance of a patch for this. More a opinion of others topic and and wish list additon for the next souls game. Nothing major, i know the on screen demand would be higher of course, but the next gen could handle it if this one couldnt im sure.

But those changes are the weapon, buffs are applied outside the weapons and that makes sense. Plus if you could always see what damage type it did, it would be a quick swap nightmare.

It does change. My occult Halberd has faint purple splotches on the blade when I looked closely. I haven't tested it with the other paths but it definitely changes for occult.

That did disappoint me at first especially with fire weapons. It would be really cool to have fire coming off your sword without applying charcoal resin. But like icefang said it would be a quick swap nightmare if someone knew what upgrade you had. It would be a little to easy to protect against weapons if the upgrades were visible.

I was also really mad when i made the great lord greatsword and it didnt have fire on it like gwyns did.

Hmmm...swapping...ya. that would be bad. But...the true duleists wouldnt swap. Just the ganking mother flipping ninja giant halves would be the type to swap armor. Most anyway. I mean...when you buff your dmb or sunlight weapon i could avoid you till it runs out. But where is the Bow honor in that? So i'd still wish for it because it wouldnt change legit dueling. Just more for the unfair players....which i would use against them. Consider starting with a lightning weapon, let them switch armors, while you switch to a chaos weapon... dun dun dun.

I was upset with the greatlord sword to. One of the biggest letdowns in the game, the end boss weapon. Bah.

You can see lightning and fire effects on critical hits.

If anything, that's the main reason I always go regular upgrade path now--no annoying effect when I riposte! The lightning and fire coursing through my enemy when I riposted or backstabbed was cool at first, but it gets really old after a few times. I can't imagine if that effect was present all the time--would be annoying as hell!

    @ BLA1NE

I see your point about the effects getting boring. I still think they should have made the upgrades show some change to the weapon. Like fire would make the weapon turn red and lightning w ould make it yellow. Idk just a thought.

I still wish the greatlord sword would have fire on it.

It might look disappointing but the GLGS's performance is nothing to sneeze at. It's one of the best weapons for a 40/40.
