Re: Random White Rings
The rings mean someone else is using a miracle that you might have on and if you use it at the same time the miracle will be stronger. Thats what i heard anyway. It sounds like the right meaning to me.

Yeah, they're resonance rings! They allow your miracles to be more...potent.

Re: Random White Rings
The white rings are miracle resonance signs. Standing near them will give a boost to certain miracles, making them more powerful upon use.
The ones in the catacombs hallway (by the last necromancer) are permanent. They're put in by the developers and not created by other players online. If you see any outside of that spot in the Catacombs, then they were created by other players casting miracles. If you're on PS3 though, it's likely that those are the only resonance signs you'll see because resonance is glitched / broken on the PSN. If you see them all around the place in videos, you can assume the person who recorded the video is playing on Xbox.
I recently put up a page on the wikidot wiki that explains miracle synergy and miracle resonance in detail - http://darksouls.wikidot.com/miracle-synergy
(I'll be updating the wikispaces page eventually if someone else doesn't do it first )

Re: Random White Rings
Where have you seen them? I'm not sure if any photo / video evidence exists of them on PS3 (outside the two in the catacombs), so if you could take a picture that would be great.passivefamiliar wrote:Im on ps3 and see them fairly often. I and others have never seen any generated by other players on the PS3.

Re: Random White Rings
I've just recently seen two rings relatively close to each other (about 10 foot difference) in the Painted World. PSN

Huh, that's wild. So perhaps it's only bugged for some PS3 players, but not all?

It's most likely a rare phenomenon.

Re: Random White Rings
I think people see them on xbox frequently, as they're supposed to be created by other players using miracles (not sure if it's limited to co-op range and the synergy-capable miracles or not).
I've put a lot of hours into the game and still haven't seen them on the PS3/ PSN, and I know others have experienced the same. I don't think they're supposed to be that rare, so it's fair to assume it is bugged (for some). Is there any reason they should be more rare than vagrants or gravelord infections?
Another reason it is likely bugged - it was bugged on release and a patch "fixed" it. After the fix, they started showing up on xbox, but not really on PS3. For whatever reason, the patch didn't quite work for us.
I'd love to know the conditions for creating + seeing a resonance sign, but because of their rarity on the PS3, I'll just have to hope that a couple xbox players would be interested in testing it.

Regarding their frequency on xbox - can anyone do a couple of hours of PvP in the forest and NOT see a single resonance sign? Would it be normal to not see any for that long of a duration?
