Well today i decided "screw it" im bored im going to fight him head on, in that big open area. IT WAS FUN, i dont know why i always took the easy way out. Hes kinda like a hydra in a way, when your far his tracking is really good but a bit closer and you can dodge easier. He only has that on claw, but it has massive fire aoes around it. So you really have to dodge it. I'm going to fight him some more on other saves cause that was awesome, he could become an amazing low lvl challenge boss.

Ceasless Discharge
Well known as being the "easiest" boss in the game. Most people including myself just either used the path where you can be safe and hit each of his attacks, or ran back to the fog and got insta wins. Well awhile ago i tryed helping a host there and he didnt know what i was doing in the path so he just fought it and get getting hit. Then i did some dmg on it and it focused on me and he was able to hit it while it hit me xD. This was all not far ahead of the fog gate.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
I always faced him head on because he is really easy. After picking up the armor to start his fight simply stay along the right wall and wait for him to swing. Right before his arm comes down role out of the way and start cutting his arm. Just repeat that a couple times and you will easily kill him without taking damage.
I never the easy way of beating him so if it still works i might try it just to save some time.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
Are you talking about baiting him into attacking you near that L shaped path? like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOFh0vmYzCw
Cause he fights you a bit differently if you fight him in that big open area.

No that is not the area. I mean up near the armor, when you pick it up just stay along the right wall and basically bait him into swinging, role away, and attack.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
I always have very low HP when I get to ceaseless discharge, so he can kill me in one attack, so I normally do the instant win.

@buggy virus
How do you have low hp when you get to ceaseless? There is a bonfire close to him and i dont know how yo would get hurt while walking to his door.

Maybe he means low hp total. After all ceaseless could be the second boss you fight in a brand new build given the right conditions.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
I always cheap him out. Probably shouldn't.
The reason for that usually is because after I've killed Quelaag, I ramble on towards Ceaseless in an effort to drain the lava, get the Gold-Hemmed armor, and to score 20K more souls.
I'm not thinking about having a fun fight. I take him as an annoyance who stands in the way of my making progress. Next time, I'll fight him straight up to see what it's like.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
Every time I've ever tried getting close to him, he's one-shot me!
I've never made him suicide though. I'm pretty sure every time I've fought him I just tanked his ranged attack, stand up, hit his arm, heal & repeat. Always struck me as a boring/annoying fight cuz he never seems to do anything but that one move!

I always fought him head on, as long as he doesn't spam that ranged attack he's not hard to dodge and punish.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
I fight him head on hoping that he doesn't do that weird firebreath attack because I still don't know how to dodge it. If he doesn't do that attack and I don't mess dodging his other attacks, I'll win. That's my only way of killing him. I can't tank him because he always just one-shots me.

Re: Ceasless Discharge
In my first playthrough I was a sorcerer. At the time I didn't know where to get all the crystal spells so I simply stuck with the spells I bought from Griggs.
Spells couldn't reach him unless I got dangerously close to him. So I had to wait until he attacked to cast spells on his tentacles.
I unknowingly took the robes from the altar. This led to many more deaths and aggravation as I race to the big open area to fight him.
I resorted to using a crystal halberd on him, and won with barely any health left.
Even in subsequent playthroughs and multiple characters I always die at least once on Ceaseless.
