my new char.

i finally made one here are the stats/ my ideas for her.

end 25
str 22
dex 19
res 11
int 8
fat 10

she is much slower than my preiveous chars i am thinking of doing a pure st build....and when i say pure i am still going to get my vit end and dex pretty high then just dump all my points into str. i really want to use some of the larger weapons so maybe i should just get str to 40 really fast? i dunno if anyone has any tips i would appreciate it

pure str is pure str, no points in dex at all, the most you should have is 10. what i do is get str to 27 asap and two hand youre weapons so that you have the same AR as 40 str. after that focus on end and then vit, maybe some faith or int whichever you prefer. i would go with faith since it fits str builds so well. wha sl are you gonna cap it at? if at all.

i don't cap myself. i am gonna use this for pve and pvp so ill keep building as long as i can i will probs max out around 100. whats a good dex to stop building at?

and ya not pure str

depends on what weapons youre gonna use, if youre gonna use weapons that only scale with str then dont waste point in dex, the most i would do is 12 for the halberds and bows which are very useful. if you have higgh dex you really should stop at 20 and use the black knight weapons if you like them.
my favorite weapon in the game is the DGM, i love that thing and its one of the most powerful and best str weapons imo.

dgm=demon great machete. this used to be my str build http://tinyurl.com/9lpxrwv then i switch to this http://tinyurl.com/9l9ej8y the comp bow and reach of the estoc is too good to pass out but only in the burg since all people do there is bs so i kinda had to switch my strategy.

Demon Great Machete. It's a drop from the Minor Capra Demons in Demon Ruins. You can also join the Forest Hunter Covenant, then go to Blighttown and purchase it from Shiva of The East for 10000 souls. It's a slow but extremely devastating force, if you know how handle it. A high strength character holding a +15 DGM with buffs (Darkmoon Blade, Sunlight Blade, Crystal Magic Weapon, etc.) is enough reason for any average invader to Black Crystal the heck out of there.

OMFG! so i have started using the black knight great sword it is slow as *** but so devastating! im heading down to the depths to pick up the bucher knife or whatever but i am starting to love big swords. killed tarus demon in two hits!

The Black Knight Greatsword is actually my favorite greatsword before I got my hands on the the Demon Great Machete.

I remember pulling a two-handed heavy attack on Petrus with the Black Knight Greatsword. Such a beautiful moment that was~ (Reminded of my uncle flipping pancakes.)

remeber to not go above 20 dex, STOP at 20 dex if you like str waepons since you get nothing out of it if youre using heavy weapons.

As others have said, I would:
1) Get STR to 27.
2) Pump End/Vit to get some good poise armour (Stone Armour is fairly easy to get, if not that, then Elite Knight Armour + Wolf Ring).
3) Get a big weapon. I enjoy Greatsword, Bastard Sword, Claymore... I used the DGM but honestly it wasn't for me; the stunlocking of the other swords seemed better.
4) Get Black Iron armour and be Iron Tarkus.

And that's it.


Honestly once your STR is 27, pump your END/VIT to around 30 each, use Havel's Ring, and equip some really heavy awesome armour. Then switch back to STR and push it to whatever weapon you want to use. DGM is 46 I believe, Havel's shield is 50 (awesome shield because of it's awesome resistances).
