    So, I have no idea why but lately my connection has been udder garbage. Everyone in the world teleports around, a lot. There is about a five second delay, it's that bad. Sometimes longer. But, the weirdest part is it has gotten way easier to kill people. It's sort of amusing, but I've basically had to stop invading people. The really weird part is that Co-Op is mostly fine for me.

    So how powerful is this lag might you ask? I've been using it to easily kill gankers. On this toon, I have a +14 DMB+3 Zweihander, can use Hornets with high poise and DWGR. So, I've just been buffing, then running up to the host who is standing still. I hit him twice, then walk around and backstab him. He gets up, I wait a few seconds. Then suddenly we move slightly, the host dies in what seems like one hit to them and I don't take any damage. Because I never actually appeared in the world to them. People have mentioned that I've killed them without so much as a warning message saying I've invaded. This is broken as hell. Sure it's amusing to use on gankers, but it's just way too powerful. It takes any challenge and fun out of it, so I think I'll stop invading until my net is smoother.

    Still, it's very weird. And I just thought I would share the ultimate power, of a terrible connection.

    This would truly be a great way to kill the sunbros that help players in PVP in Darkroot Garden, but it would still take the fun out of the fight. 😢

    I really can't offer a solution to the problem though, I'm not great when it comes to issues on that bad of lag.

    Yeah, that's pretty much all I've been the connection for is killing them in Darkroot. I definitely don't want to use this on questers, or duelists. It's just ridiculous that this is even possible really.

    Yeah, this would be a nightmare for someone like me. Soon as I get the message you invaded the host is already dead, and I'm being sent back to my own world.

    Have you tried invading in any other areas besides the forest? Like with the gankers at Anor Londo that kill the darkmoon?

    Other than that I always find it strange that whenever I hear of connection issues in this game it's always with PVP and rarely with co-op.

    I invaded once in the burg, and found a host standing still. I didn't realize how bad the connection was, and I just thought he was afk. So I kicked him a few times. After a few seconds he teleported over by the stairs, probably going after my standing still body. Then he got kicked, and went right off the stairs and died. He sent me a message about that and explained that it was my bad, that my connection was really awful. I should try Anor Londo, maybe it is a bit fun to use this on gankers to thin the herd for my fellow Darkmoon.

    That is a good idea, but if it's all already laggy in PVP I would suggest doing some co-op if that isn't as bad. Unless, if you want to use it as an advantage against the gankers and go on a bit of a mini-crusade instead.

    I just don't know, the deserve it, at the same time I just find it way too easy. It's easy enough fighting them with DMB+3 Zweihander with 40 str, I already can two-three shot a lot of them, but this is another level of making things easy.

    I guess it really would just depend on the person in charge with this type of power over others. Honestly, if you want a fair game I would just suggest going into co-op so you won't have that great of an advantage over other players.

    Granted, it would be a good laugh to take out those gankers, but I think that would make the game's PVP repetitive for you and possibly ruin the gameplay if you really do enjoy the challenge of PVP.

    I'm just happy that you're not someone that would use this to prey on those in co-op and looking for a fair fight.

    Yeah I think I'll just be sticking to Co-Op mainly until this gets resolved. And I don't like killing questers normally, especially not like this. Fighting them just isn't a challenge, but also just feels malicious on my end. So, I usually save my PvP for PvP'ers.

    I'm on the receiving end of this a lot in Anor Londo. I usually chalk up the teleporting/no warning invisible invaders to a bad connection or in some extreme cases lag switch exploiters, but it may run deeper than that. Recently I've been having experiences where I'll manage to backstab a teleporter, and I'll go into the regular animation with the target. But then about halfway through the guy will pop sideways off my sword, and run off even as I stand there doing the full animation and kicking nothing but air. Worse, on a few occasions not only did I not hurt them, but when they wriggle lose they somehow pummel me while I'm stuck in the animation, such that as I finish I just take a full bar of damage myself and keel over. I don't understand how this could be purely lag related, as I do manage something to get the backstab started (and it plays very differently than a lag related backstab cancel).

    The worst my lag's been lately is some ganker swings his lighting zwei across the stage from me and I take damage 5 seconds later.

    In co-op the other day I had one of the most hilarious lag experiences ever.

    I was summoned by a shiva cosplayer in lower blight town, we ran out to where shiva and his ninja usually stands and he suddenly stops moving. I can't even see the blue phantoms that NPC's usually leave but the host walks behind the wall where the ninja usually is... suddenly I see him roll back swing his sword at the air and go back in and for a moment he is just hacking at the wall of the plank

    The host disappears behind then plants and and then I see shiva walk out from the same location where the cosplayer vanished, with a 2h Murakumo he takes a R2 swing at me, killing me in two strikes.

    As I fall dead the host appears again from the same wall hostile Shiva had come from and fighting the ninja. I was always under the impression that NPC's could not harm or materialize in a summoned persons world but..
    Doppelgangers guys.

    Are you doing anything to fix your connection? Limit the load on it? Make sure your settings are correct?

    I hate laggy people. My connection is awesome, and dying because of some bad connection is very frustrating. Makes me want to use a lag switch and show them what it's like.

    Yeah I've never seen that happen before Yukon, and I've tried a few things to no avail Mark. But I'm not doing any PvP because of the connection issues. As I said, it gives me way too much of an advantage.

    Just died to someone using magic and lagging bad. I easily dodged their attack, and a second later, BAM! 1/2 HP gone. Another spell, another missed dodge, I'm dead.

    Awesome. Tell me again why someone with a top notch connection gets punished? I pay 80/month for my speed.

    No idea really, I always thought lag was just as bad on both sides. But since my connection went to ****, I discovered the lagger actually has the advantage.

    I need a really good, reliable connection for the work I do, so mine is as good as it gets commercially (barring something that a business would have).

    Lag is on their end. There's two types of lag: upload and download. If I have a great connection and upload fast and download fast, then my fast upload will allow them to have a good idea of where I am.

    If they have a bad upload and a decent download, they will know where I am, but their bad upload means I don't know where they are. if you purposely block your upload for a second (lag switch) most games have tolerances built in for this (to deal with the unknowns of network traffic) and will 'catch up' once all the upload traffic, which is buffered, hits them at once. So I get someone teleporting around sometimes, or just really bad upload.

    If host had all the poewr, it would be too easy to abuse (via lag switch, or just hammering your upload with a torrent or something similar) so I'd wager they did some kind of in-between guessing.

    Though the fact that I invade without a warning popping up for my enemy, that's just brutally unfair. There is bad lag, but this is more deadly than a hacker.

    tolvo go on your ps3 network settings, click the 1st one and tell me what is says under nat and upnp ?

    Nat 2 from what I just read means your ports are mapped properly. So shouldn't be an issue there.

    Have you run a speed test through your PS3?
