So a friend of mine just got Dark Souls, but he can't get past the bridge Wyvern. Literally if he sets foot on the bridge it lights it ablaze, killing him in one shot. Sometimes it lands and starts attacking, and it doesn't do this when he gets to the middle. If he steps on it at all, it does this. Now, I was wondering is this a glitch with the Xbox version? I've never had this happen personally, and he is playing it on that system. Anyone got a clue?

Re: Bridge Wyvern
Im not sure about any glitch that could be happening, but I just stand behind the wall by the stairs on the bridge, wait till he flies down to me and lands on the bridge, and then I just run past him with no problem.

He's by the Taurus Demon area, the moment he sets foot on the entire bridge it toasts him, not just from the middle. From the far side.

Weird problem! He behaves the same on xbox as ps3. Try to quit and reload? Maybe that will reset him.

Nevermind, the dragon didn't do it, and he made it. A bit sigh of relief, but thanks for trying to assist him guys.

Re: Bridge Wyvern
I had a similar thing happen to me on my first run. I got torched by the dragon my first time across the bridge and then it became physically impossible for me to get even close to the stairs... Ever since then, I always make sure I get across the bridge on my first go so I never get perpetually trapped by that stupid wyvern

That dragon has a mind of its own, you'll lose your head trying to make sense of it.

Sometimes, the dragon won't torch the bridge when I go from the stairs towards Solaire. I like to think he's a cool buddy.
Then he roasts me on the way back.

As it turns out, he might be playing an unpatched Dark Souls, so that could be the cause.

Re: Bridge Wyvern
Just made it guys, no worries! Cheers!
However, I will say that I installed the game to my hard drive on my 360 and there is some TERRIBLE frame rate issues there.

The dragon has had some AI fixes since then...
If you wish to see what's happening to your friend occur in 1.5 though, it can still happen if you try to move too fast.
If you let the dragon fly accross the bridge, then try to run off onto it less then a second after the flames die down, the dragon will still spam the fire like Great Combustion. In old versions of the game, the dragon was also known to do this.
Dragons also had some major attack power decreases since then...
Also welcome to the forum!
