Dark moon pvp is scarce

I'm in Anor Londo with a level 59 Darkmoon. I have been trying to invade for a while over and over again with the blue orb, but every single time I get the "Failed to invade" message. However, when ever I try a cracked red orb, I invade on the first attempt. Someone please tell me its not going to be this stupidly hard to invade everywhere. Please?

Try the forest, I think there are usually tons of indicted people there, problem is they might be forest hunters and not hosts. Which means they play hollow.

As a DM I had the most luck in painted world and the forest, anor londo when it is full is usually just like the forest for pvp, lots of 3v1 or 3v2, but its been some time since I played as a DM.

I'll try those places. What level should I be to invade in the painted world?

I don't know much about darkmoon blades, but is invading with the ring like invading with alvinas ring? Or are you forced to use the blue eye orb?

Edit: Just looked it up with the wiki. Are you using the orb or the ring?

Up your lvl abit, alot of dedicated PvPers like to carry sin to be invaded lots but tend to be higher lvl, I think 120 is still the most popular PvP lvl and as a darkmoon you will have more luck invading down.

The orb, using the ring is the equivalent of walking into a Neo-Nazi rally and saying, "Hai guyz, I'ma Jew", and then getting gang raped by all of them. I can't hold my own in a 1v2 or 1v3 fight lol.

I seem to have problems invading as a DM as well. I tried it at many different levels and it does not work nearly as often as the red orbs. I never tried the ring though maybe that will work better. Anyway like other people said just try different areas and maybe raise your level to around 120 or higher.

I think it means that you could not find anybody, but it might mean both. It depends on how good your connection is i guess. With lower connection it probably failed to connect to another person.

A couple of things could cause fail to invade messages. Most common is connection issues. I was experiencing this as a wraith when my internet was crapping out, but it could also be that the invader happened to step into an area not intended for invasion, like a boss area, right as the connection was being established.

Well, I'm might just be really unlucky then, because it happens without fail when I use the blue orb. Cracked red ones work every time tho. It's also too late to join the DWs, because I gave the LV to Frampt. Guess I'll have to suck it up and try to enjoy the second rate pvp covy. *sigh*

Dark moons invade downwards and upwards, but for PW usually 60-80 for forest 30- 50 or so works and 120 works well at the kiln, and probably other pvp hotspots like berg etc.. I am not usually pvping my dm at 120 though.. so others would know better.

Ya I read something on the wiki that says its 10% above and below your sl, but the more indictments people get, the higher sl darkmoons can invade them. So I guess Darkmoons are excelent for hunting griefers, which comes close to making up for the difficulty in finding matches.

DMs are always like that. It's like no one is a sinner these days. Yeah right. I sometimes think the orb is glitched, because I tested invading a friend who had sin and I only got fails.

Another vote for increasing your SL. As a darkmoon, I was invading people way lower then me. Also, the fact that you easily invade people as a darkwraith (invades up) makes me think your SL is too low.

It was 59 when I started this topic, but as of 20 minutes ago its high 60s.

Well, you're getting there. For some odd reason we tend to invade lower levels, so I think the more levels below you = more pvp. I'm at 200 and if I turn human in the burg or the forest I might as well walk off the cliff if I want the fog gate to go down. I use the orb in the forest and usually find someone within 2-3 tries.

You could always invade the burg/parish at sl20-30 with balanced equipment and catch the glitchers with their pants down. You wont get new hosts since DM invasions require sin, hardly griefing if you play everything right and dont be a prick.
(By balanced I mean something that wont OHK people)

I on another character, I was at around sl50 and sat in the burgh to catch griefers. It was really fun because they would come in with their dragon tooth with lighting buffs, or a lightning katana. They would get all reckless right off the bat and charge me, so I'd just stand my ground, tank the hit then stunlock them to death. Despite all there souped up armor.

It must be embarrassing losing when you have all the cards. but with your current Char, try the forest, Anor Londo could work better now that youre higher, Dukes works well. Best is forest and Kiln. but the prey there are the most dangerous.

Dm invasions are always slow, and I've never gotten orb action in anor londo. I'd recommend sl 80 for the painted world and demon ruins/lost izalith, at 120 the kiln, the burg, and the forest work best in my experience.

I'd expect 1 invasion every 2-5 minutes under decent conditions.


I've only invaded more than 20 sls down with the orb 6 times, so I'd say stickily fairly close to the common sl for the area will work best.

Use the ring, even if its 2v1's you can still get some experience, whenever I invade there, I run over to the archers and kill them, at least 5 times I've won that way 2v1.

I also vote for leveling up, I actually made a character 140 for Darkmoon, but I deleted it, so I dunno how it would work. Perhaps 130 would be ideal for invading 120s. If you want to invade lower, I think 80 would be a solid level to try and invade (so maybe 90 for you?).

I got a 200 something DM and I can get good invades in the forest usually within 5 minutes or so. Anor Londo varies from time to time. But for the ring...they don't have to go to the archers, instead they can just go to the boss.

I am surprised how unoften they do that. I thought the same thing, but they usually really want to kill you.

I think blighttown and sens would be good at your level OP.
