    Tolvo's Havel Co-Op Toon Empty Tolvo's Havel Co-Op Toon

Post by Tolvo Sat Aug 04, 2012 12:24 am

    http://tinyurl.com/c2j2vye

So I'm working on a build for my Co-Op account and one thing I've wanted is a havel cosplay armor toon. I want it to be a fat roller and use a dragon weapon, mostly focusing on the Dragon Greatsword, and Dragon King Axe. The reason being I've wanted to mess around with the R2 abilities and use some heavy hitting weapons. At higher levels they have decent damage I find as well. The issue I'm sort of running into is just streamlining the toon a bit and making sure it will be effective. I was thinking the Duke's would be a great place for him with the armor he is wearing, as well as the weapon he is wielding as if he is a dragon slayer. I am also trying to figure a good shield that looks sort of stone, but doesn't require too much strength to wield as I'm going to mostly use it for blocking attacks I'm not confident in striking through or parrying. The Gargoyle Shield seems best for this, but of course comes the issue of HP and Endurance. Now for stamina I have the Ring of FAP, as well I will be using Green Blossoms so I'm not too worried about that. Fat rolling is something I'm used to in PvP at this point, and if you are worried about being BS'ed don't. That's what the dagger is for, strictly BS cancelling BS Fishers. This is a Co-Op toon, but of course I will run into invaders which is one of the reasons I'm posting it in the PvP section. As well as the fact that every build seems to navigate here. Health is the thing I'm most worried about though, as well as my damage. I'm not sure if I'll be doing enough to kill Seath, as well taking a hit from his tails is something I would like to avoid.

So what do you guys think of this build, too crazy, or not crazy enough?

Dagger should be chaos if you ever decide to use it pve in the Dukes, the damage won't matter to invaders if it's for bs cancels.
Crystal shield provides better resists and looks stone-ish.
Levels could probably go up to 70.

Yeah 75 is the cap for this toon, I'm just trying to think of the best way to get the most out of the levels I'll be using. I'll look into the Crystal shield actually, because that sounds like a fine idea to me. Plus I'm already using the R2 of the DGS, why not the L2 of that as well?

The reason for lightning is just so I don't have to go down to Vamos on the toon, though hell I can just leave the dagger at base and get what I want out of it really.

I think you got the right idea in taking this toon of yours to the Duke's Archives.

Killing Seath over and over again, sounds like bona fide Havel the Rock wet dream.

Indeed, Actually with the GMB and shield that is still pending, WotG will probably not even be noticable, or any magic damage that is. Fire is still a big issue though, so maybe I should focus my shield more on fire for those spamming Great Combustion.

If you're going to shield from combustion spammers, ya best break out the Black Knight Shield.

I would say stone GS but it requires more strength that what you want also I would recommend to get you vit to at least 30 and add 1 more slot for GLS

Hmm, GLS is interesting, but that is a bit more PvP oriented. I'll think over that one, the Stone Sword I will be avoiding however. As I said, I'm trying to go with dragon weapons, namely the DGS. I am still considering the Axe though, but its slow attacks might make it a bit too difficult for me.

Actually yeah that's true, plus I could possibly get his tail in one strike with that.

The stone shield, I so wish I could use it. It would work a bit better with the build, but actually Moon shield is looking pretty good. I upgraded it and have done some testing, both for appearance and defense. That's looking good, so I think I'm set on a shield with that one.

The vitality is probably the way I'm going to go with my points, because backstabs and especially Seath's Tail swings are going to be a huge issues. I actually never noticed before that Havel's armor has curse resist, so that's a nice little bonus.

Also, you mentioned the cap for this character will be 75.
Is there some sort of benefit to having you SL 5 below to estimated co-op for your intended co-oping areas?

It means I'll get lower level people doing the area, so it does have its benefits. This is more so in case I want to try and help people with say, O&S, or maybe Priscilla.

Yeah I actually noticed it perfectly matches Havel's armor, I might test around with it and the Moon shield, because both are very good options.

58 seems a bit low for Seath, you could bump it up to 65, 70, or even 80 and get co-op action

like this maybe? frees up a ring slot and if your capping at 75 just remove 5 vit...
also do your really need a shield... your sword can block a hit or two and you can bare fist parry... or use the effigy shield maybe...

I think I'll be capping at 75, the high end is interesting. It might give me more options with my shield. But why would I want the Wolf ring exactly?

the cloranthy rinf and rtsr are the only ones that are worth wearing since you dont really need much of anything else.

EDIT: I mean in addition with the Cloranthy ring.

A middle ground between both your builds might do well, with the cloranthy ring. I think that's what I'll be building. Thanks for all the advice guys, it really helped.

Ive actually played through the game before as a lvl30 smough(FUN!). Having low health at those lower lvls isnt so bad since you have such high defense armor and heavy hitting weapon. Especially with 99humanity, elemental weapons dont even do much dmg.
