    Elite Painted Guardian

Post by Swiftie on Thu Aug 02, 2012 5:38 pm

Well. I've played with this account for a while now and I've decided what is best for this build. I've focused on faith, dexterity, and vitality. Your role as a painted guardian is to well, guard the painting at anor londo.. BUT! Your a special guardian, an elite one. You hunt your prey, quite easily i might say. This build might be the most fund you've had in a lifetime. I've gotten tickled to death from the hate mail i've received. The character itself just looks like a complete destruction machine. So not only will it intimidate your foes, but it will also provide decent protection. Well enough of me talking, lets get to the stats..

    Stats
    SL: 80
    - 41 Vitality - 1615 hp
    - 12 Att.
    - 28 Endurance - 154 end
    - 12 Strength
    - 20 Dexterity
    - 11 Resistance
    - 8 Intelligence
    - 30 Faith

Explanation: Vitality is essential because you will most likely take A LOT of hits. The range of the PGS is limited guys, but just enough to get rid of your invaders. Endurance seems to be enough, just use Green Blossoms and you'll be on your way. 20 dex for your awesome weapon and bow. 30 faith for DMB and WotG. I usually dont use DMB unless its 2v1.. Its not really needed. since the PGS does bleeding damage.

Strategy: Well, I really wouldn't consider this build "difficult" for the main reason that I'm able to succeed with it, but it can take time to grab a hold of. To start the duel I use my bow, fire a good bit. (Hits 100-300 depending on armour) That will drain their health down in a heartbeat. I've managed to kill people wit just the bow... Then once they come in I'll just hack away is their shield turtles till they bleed. And the rest is just like any other weapon. Rolling is essential to this build if you couldn't tell. No shield! If you health gets low, thats when WotG comes in play, or also if they are a turtle.

Note: If you use DMB in 1v1 its kinda OP considering once i breat though someones shield and get 4 hits or so it ends up being 1000+ damage..

I would switch the PGS for a falchion, the range is a lot better. You could also lower your dex to 13 if you did that.
Make the comp bow chaos and use fire arrows, since there are no lightning arrows.
The canvas talisman has a higher mag adj at that faith.
try to get you poise to 53, so that you can tank 1 GS hit.

Wait so if I have a lightning bow and use large arrows it wont apply lightning damage? Also a PGS is a must have. I wanted to make a build with it but if nobody likes it that can switch it to a katana or something.

From what i have understood it doesn’t do anything, hence you should use the chaos path.

You should use chaos, it’s a lot more powerful with those stats. And if you don’t have enough chunks/slabs you can just ask on the forum, i’m sure that someone can give you some. If you’re on PS3 i can give them to you.

Updated it. Finally finished it and I'm loving it!

Edit: Wb now? Deals more damage than chaos would

I wanted to try PGS as well and found the range wasn't as limiting as I'd initially thought. Your build while at an oddity of a level (67?) as Darkmoon you will see action at sen's / anor londo

Consider carrying a Grass Crest or grass consumables as some people will just try to Run out your buff timer, keeping up with them is essential.

Yeah i carry blossoms. The speed on the pgs is ridiculous. And hard to parry

It is! It functions almost identically to the falchion (lower range) but it has a bit different of a parry timing, and since the falchion is MUCH more common a lot of folks botch parry attempts and eat damage. It's a fun weapon for sure

I just 2h it the whole time and if i meet turtle shields I just let the bleed damage do the deal. Only hard thing the the Havel armor wears. I hit so low on them

Can anyone else help me with this. Should I pump my souls into dex. or faith since i use DMB. Which would be more beneficial. Faith or Dex
