Enemies get tougher, you get more souls with enemies and bosses, you keep all the same equipment (weapons, consumables, spells) except embers and keys. Your character is the same.

Exactly what you said. You keep everything except keys you've grabbed, I believe. Thigs like crest of artorias and the doll for painted world vanish.

Exact same guy, you keep all items except those in the keys section of your inventory except for the master key which you keep. Enemies have roughly x3 hp and x3 AR (estimate) and give x3 souls. Your BB will be gone but you can rebuy it at the merchant and it will have all your non key items in it.

You keep everything and your stats stay the same. Its basically like continueing the game with harder enemies. With the harder enemies comes more souls per kill so it pays off. Another play also offers you more chances to get items that you missed during the 1st play.

The weapons you obtain from NG help a lot with the increase in difficulty but some of the bosses are much harder (for example, the 4 kings).

Its not really harder because you will have all the carry-overs. Just depends on your level!

Yup, for instance: You would need Gwyn's soul from NG to get the sun spears in NG+

Two things off the top of my head: Lord Gwyn's armor and the miracle, sunlight spear. Also, you need NG+ for some of the bosses souls that can only be obtained in one play through. For example, Sif's soul can be made into three different weapons but you can only make one weapon per play through. So it would take three play throughs to get all three of those weapons.

just started my first NG+ and i think it wouldve been cooler if the item pickups were different. maybe a tier of different weapons? or armors? i know it would be hard to do but it could be done. and maybe merchants selling other items as well

Domhnall of Zena will sell you Gwyns armor set now! Not much of a difference, I know. Seems that the item drops become a bit more favorable, but maybe I was getting lucky. There was a thread recently talking about this.
Unfortunately, it really doesn't change much in NG+. I tend to find that I get invaded by much better players, and I have a harder time finding people to summon. NG+ is where I honed in on my PvP skills.

even something like alternate color schemes for monsters and enemies or weapons and armor. Half the fun of the game was seeing a new monster and wondering what the next was going to be and look like. Or how games like Infinity blade did it. once you beat the game you would get an item that unlocked a previously inaccessible area. like where does the door behind the centipede go? who knows?
