Recent Psn issues?

Ever since the last update the other day I've had weird Psn connection issues. Randomly being kicked from chatrooms, failed invasions that permanently turn off the bonfire and excessive DCs. The most annoying of which was just a few minutes ago I was gravelording the Burg and got 2 random invasions from forum members at the same time, what are the chances of that, and right as we were gonna fight I got a DC.!

Am I the only one who's noticed this?

The game is known for its pathetic online system. Next game From will think twice before going to work again without dedicated servers (like demon souls, in that game 99 percent of the summons and invasion actually worked!) And also I keep my fingers crossed they will quit working with SCAMCO bandai. An awful corporation.

And yes after the psn update it is even worse. Only 50% works.

Yeah I understand the gripes with DkS peer 2 peer online system but it has no bearing on all the issues im having with Psn chat rooms

So I guess it's a combination. The one makes the other worse. I am having the same issues btw. Also with chat rooms. But indeed with weird bonfire behavior etc too! So no, you are not alone in that.

I haven't been playing enough lately to tell a difference. Everything you said has been happening since launch for me though. It is really annoying when a fog wall will appear only for me to wait 5min+ for an invader to actually arrive. Or sometimes the fog wall will disperse, but like you mentioned the bonfire will remain inactive(for very long periods of time,especially annoying for a caster build). Its a flawed online system, i think how they had it in demons how you needed to be in body(undead) form in order to invade worked best.

I hate how i cant host and invade an area without it being insanely annoying. This is especially noticeable in the kiln.

Except for dc issues once connected, that's normal for me. Everything is a chore. Just ask Serious how much "fun" it is to summon me. I hope if there's more issues they fix it soon. Don't need things worse

+1. I hope they will put aside some money for dedicated servers next time. They could've known that Dark Souls would be a success, why so greedy on the online system. beats me. Oh no, I know >> Scamco bandai!!

Especially with Dark Souls where there are a lot more of invading and coop possibilities and intertwined interests dedicated serv wouldve been the best solution.

Was randomly dc'd out of two 2v1s with SoVs since posting this. How am I supposed to Gravelord if I get dc'd out of all the SoV fights?

And FruitPunch this stuff happens sometimes, but now its happening every few minutes. This is a definite Psn issue.

I have tested some more (near Quelaag bonfire) and summoning is a mess! The fact that the game has issues in combination with a psn issue makes it garbage to play online.

Other games work perfectly fine, so blaming only psn is not correct. Although the latest psn update has worsened it definately. But it wasnt good to begin with either. lol. I feel sorry for those From guys. Really.

I've been summoned twice today in Anor Londo to help with the boss fight.
I was disconnected both of those times.

It isn't my internet, and everyone wasn't just floating around the area like they do when I'm usually about to get disconnected; I just get booted at random times.

Same for me, last night went to new lando ruins looking for help to fight the four kings in NG + and had to give up as every summon failed. I then went to the burg and had a lot of red soap fails, I also noticed that the bonfire would fog up and then clear again in a few moments as if a dark wraith had a failed invasion. After half an hour or so I just switched it of and went to bed, I hope this isn't going to be the norm intill they re-patch the psn.

Last night was the most frustrating for me wanting to be summoned to help folks w/4kings. I'd say 8 out of 10 times being summoned to another world, in less than a minute I get disconnected from the servers.
I was so mad I even sent FROM a message...not like that's gonna do anything but made me feel good!

To make things even more fun the last thing I did with my copy of Dark souls was fail to summon you...

I hope they don't go back to dedicated servers personally, it's Sony's fault it's not working not FROMS, and Namco has nothing to do with the issues..

Namco Scamco is the brain behind the cheap online system. fact. Demon Souls worked as a chore (all praise to Atlus!! with no failed summons ever, well 1 maybe in a hundred. And look on the internet, it's full of people having trouble with the online system Dark Souls has.

But I think From has learned their lesson. They even apologized. The way only japanese can do.

Go look at preparetodie.com and read about Dark Souls, it's so terribly translated the description of the game doesn't even make sense. Namco does many disservices to FROM and abandoning servers is definitely one of them, I hope the rumors of Sony having the next Souls game are true. Though that will suck if you're Xbox, but i'm not so I don't care that much

The demons souls server for EU is run by namco... It seems to work okay though I think.

Fed, I hope it's true next souls game is sony exclusive, having it for xbox holds it back, goddam DVD games :|

Sony is much better as a publisher, better support for their titles and better freedom to the developer. I also agree, blu-rays are much better for games more storage space = more gooder

I jumped on today and had a pretty smooth half hour or so. Then I had to stop but got a lot of fights in surprisingly

That's a good point I hadn't thought of.

You know we say the Peer 2 Peer is at fault but Mass Effect 3 is P2P online, and it doesn't have the same sorts of issues. Maybe the problem is coding

Guys I play on Xbox too, and in the weekend I never so experienced this sort of dc's. Now I believe that no matter what system we are using we connect to DkS servers the same way?
I haven't updated my ps3 but I'll check it tonight and see what you are all talking about.
The point is.... Maybe it is not DkS but PSN patch...

Yeah I'm currently under the impression its a Psn issue. Haven't played today or yesterday to see if the situation has improved though.
