First Leo Ring build

I haven't done one so I'm planning this:

It will use almost all kinds of thrusting weapons, but more specifically the SKS and the BSS. Do bows benefit from the leo ring? Does the damage boost only affect physical damage?

I tried leo yesterday and my crossbow made close to 500 dmg with counter so I guess it affects ranged weapons too, which is totally awesome

This is incredible. I now know it's possible with a composite bow and RTR activated with Leo Ring to hope to finish them off in one hit when they go to attack. Time to man up.

Offhand Avelyn if it does in fact work with leo, seems to be good for stopping mid range spell casting, but you'd then have a weight issue. A small aside, Crystaline Armor is pretty weighty for it's stats and Orns' is not upgrade-able so I am pressuming your armor choices are Aesthetically driven yeah?

I'm not actually sure *when* the counter timing is for various things so I can't say I've ever gotten leo to work or not. But I do often use an estoc so I will gleefully wish you the best so I can perhaps one day myself try using Leo in pvp.

It does only affect physical damage. So a +15 gets a huge bonus while Velka's recieves almost no benefit whatsoever, for example.

Currently testing the build at the Burg. 1 handed damage is ~170 damage. Counter damage gets boosted to ~240 damage. Two handed damage could get as high as 400 per poke I think.

I really like it with the Estoc actually. A lot of people immediately associate the Leo Ring with the BSS and spears, but the Estoc gets a pretty damn good boost too.

I used with ricards a while. Parry + r2

I never got more than the first couple hits to connect doing that, Spur. Probably I'm just blowin' it.

All the hits don’t connect. But the ones that do deal a lot of damage, more than you would have gotten from a parry (without HR).

I use Longsword +15 and Greatsword +15 on my leo build.
I would strongly recommend that Greatsword, the counter hit with it can make 1300 dmg...it's really insane guys and guaranteed to make your opponent **** themselves.

Like the Clay R2? Is that what we're talking about?

yeah the greatsword's strong attack is a huge but slow thrust that does tons of damage, like the claymore and BSS.

Would the reg halberd R1 count as a thrust?

Yup. It will deal insane damage too.

I thought the bonus applied strictly to weapons classified as "Thrust" weapons exclusively? So, would it apply to katana dash attacks, or Uchi/Washing R2's also?

I'm going to have to test this. I mean, I think we ALL know katana=dash attack spam. If I could get x% damage boost from the only attack people ever seem to do with katanas, that'd be dope.

You can Leo ring Uchi's running attack. However it means you have to poke them while they're swinging and katana running doesn't typically break poise so you may have to just decide you're eating a hit to the face. Which a 40dex +15 uchi +40% from leo will *Probably* trade very well with most weapons.
