Which spear weapon should I use?

My latest PvP build is going to be yet another spear user, but I'm not sure which spear I should choose.
My choice is between the partizan and the pike.

Is the pike drastically longer than the partizan?
Which one is better for turtling, and which one is better for two-handed offensive?

How about a kat? They are fun to use and you feel like a ninja/samurai. Spears deal very weak damage and you'll get roll bs constantly.

Eh, I might make a katana user eventually, but I've been really enjoying using spear as of late.

Rapiers are awesome to use too, you feel like a fencing fighter wooo.

The Pike is cool, but I think the Partizan is the coolest spear, I vote for it.

Yeah if anything choose the Partizan, it's way cooler.

The horizontal slash of the Partizan is great for dead angling. other than the Dragonslayer spear (which requires a higher level build), it is the best one in my opinion.

I just like to keep my enemy at a distance while dodging all attacks.

try the regular halberd, its like a heavy version of a spear, but also has sweep attacks , no turteling but thats fine considering its attack and range.

I've always been more of a fan of swift attacks. > o >

The pike if you are going for 2 handing, it is greater range and damage. For one handed use, I would suggest the winged spear. It has an excellent R2 for lock off allowing you to hit enemies when they land after their dodge. It has fairly good range and damage, especially if you buff it. It is quite fast as well, and extends slightly when you attack.

But if you want to take advantage of Lag, the Pike is a better way to go because of its range. You'd be surprised, but with the right stats the Silver Knight spear is a very great weapon, same range as the DSS and Demon Spear. Its two handed R2 is very slow though, but the one handed is great for dead angles as I think was mentioned above.

Try the claymore! You can stunlock to death!!!! And it's so fun to use, it has a variety of attacks that no other greatsword has!!!

Being bottom paged sucks.

You had tried halberds, have you tried the Great or LH Scythe? Both dead angle quite awesome and ypu feel very skillful using them + the GS has very long range. It's like a spear!

Nothing wrong with using a spear, even if he is turtling which it sounds like he isn't, there are ways around it.

No there's nothing wrong, only that they are the most poweful dueling weapons. I get my @$$ raped everytime I face one. But nothing wrong. LOL

They're very easily countered with well placed parries though.

Yeah right. Their long range makes parrying even more difficult. You get close, you get stunlocked by senseless R1 spamming that is so fast it you are f**** if you don't have 62 poise. The only time I have ever wanted to do a roll backstab is when I face a SKS, DSS, DS or MBH.

That's why you don't let them stunlock you, parry them on the first thrust which is often very predictable. As well if they try a dead angle with a spear weapon, it's easy to hit them and roll out, or just BS them for the slow attack provided you know to avoid taking the damage so you don't get BS cancelled. Try fighting without any poise, it will force you to get the timing down better.
