why so much BB glitch hate?

after being on this forum for a while i have found people hating the BB glitch. i have found that it adds more life to the game because i can still do things that are new without the 30+ hours that went into my original toon. im not here to voice my opinion i genuinely want to know the reason people hate it?

My main beef with it is that the character your making doesnt have the work put into them to deserve what they have. I'm just old school like that, I think if you make a build, you should have to "build" it. But, I dont care what others do for the most part, thats just my preference and what I practice personally.

I contend that the work was put in, the item(s) in question are simply moving to a different character, the player still earned them. I believe the real qualm that most have with BB is the griefers and gankers. You have a starting lvl build with a fully upgraded elemental weapon and upgraded armor sets invading players that have zero chance at defending themselves.

My problem is with griefers. I may or may not use it to build more quickly (because **** spending 250K souls on a new pyro hand) but people really do abuse it in the worst ways.

This. Plus the fact that most BB glitchers put 99 divine blessings on their hotkeys and always starts to eat if they feel threatened

i like to build my own builds.....excuse the pun, but i don't have the time to make one from scratch for every weapon, spell, ect ect that i find interesting. as a school student i have most of my days taken up at school, i get some weekends to myself but must are with friends, soon to be job ect ect. this leaves me with very few hours per week and the BB glitch lets me play a game id otherwise drop.

As I said, I dont care what others do with the bb glitch, save the griefers and those divine blessings just mentioned. I can understand wanting to build a toon quick and not wanting to spend the time, but for me, I'd just rather spend the time. Makes the toon more important to me that way. I'm sure in a couple months when I'm getting bored with the game I will bb glitch to make things I havnt tried, but for now I put the work in.

The hate started because when it was first found out, people would abuse it to gank low level players who had no chance of fighting back. Since it became more common and people learned to deal with the low-level gankers, it has, to my knowledge, since become mostly a matter of pride. As in, it devalues the effort required to create a full build and that those who use it to attain a finished build with less effort are cheating themselves and anyone who took the effort to make the build naturally.

The counterargument to this is commonly that those who do use it don't do so to be lazy, but to cut out the grinding parts of the game that negatively impact the experience of finishing a build. They will argue that cutting out the boring parts associated with finishing a build makes creating and using the build more engaging.

A hypothetical situation would be a build that uses a good number of titanite slabs to get max upgrades in all of its equipment. Let's say 3 slabs are needed. One side would say that you should put the effort forward to beat the Stray Demon, finish Seigmeyer's quest, and farm one Slab from Darkwraiths. The other side would say that transferring two slabs over to avoid Seigmeyer's quest and Darkwraith farming takes out alot of stress with finishing the build due to the unreliable nature of those two methods of finding Slabs.

The hate stems from differing perspectives between the two sides. Now obviously, the problem with the "cuts down on frustration" side of the argument finds alot of skepticism from the other side because where you draw the line on what differentiates between "cuts down on frustration" and "just being lazy" differs from player to player.

Some people may think it's perfectly acceptable to transfer over full armor sets and fully upgraded weapons. Some think it's okay to transer over unupgraded weapons and armor and still just upgrade it themselves. Some don't think anything should be transferred at all. When two people of differing thresholds meet, the hate begins.

I got my full elemental weapons with a level 1 char. That's why I hate the easy peasy BB glitch. Go level a char to 120 to get the goods the easy way and then BB glitch them to a starting char. It's so easy.

Oddly enough, I actually do use the BB myself to create extra toons, because I like to experiment a lot. However, I would rather have the glitch removed from the game all together. Griefing is already terrible as is, it doesn't need to get worse. Yes there are some legit SL1 Darkwraith who play through the game at SL1 to get all this stuff, there's no way to deter that. But it would lessen the numbers over time definitely.

It doesn't bother me, though I personally don't use it because I'm too paranoid about ruining my console and/or save file.

Maybe if you had it set so that people could send you private messages, someone would tell you. I don't know what daring soul would risk such a violation, but I'm sure somebody will, especially if you ask them to.

It completely waters down the economy of the game... And i bet you any money you wouldnt drop the game if you didn't have the glitch. You'd use those few hours a week to play it for the next two years instead of 3 months....

Its an rpg not tekken That requires role playing and thats only really fostered by inputting time. Otherwise its just a beat em up game.

In my opinion the BB glitch is one of the best glitches in the game... It saves you hours of playing so you don't have to get all the armor and weapons again. I use it for every new account i make and so far i have found no reason to hate it...

Can u imagine the outrage if it was in any othermultiplayer rpg?

i use it a lot... but thats because i make new builds every day to try out stupid things like resistence builds or the crzy high bleed res toon with 400 bleed res (eki modified it up to 4000...)

it has its uses, but most people use it to be trolls rather than do things like get to the kiln at lvl4 and then kill lvl 120's...

It saves time. People grief, yeah, but griefing is also in the game (Hello Anor Londo archers) so it's part of the charm for me.

I don't think anyone cares if you use it as a time saver to work on more builds than you might otherwise. Everyone agrees about its convenience.

What people have a problem with is when someone uses it to grief newbies at low levels. It is extremely annoying and disheartening for a new player. They may not even be aware of the glitch and not understand how someone so powerful can invade their game early on. It could be what makes them quit playing.

I think it's also generally unacceptable to use items you couldn't normally obtain at a certain point in the game in honorable PvP. The problem is that you can never know for certain if someone has legitimately sunk dozens of hours into a low level character, and maybe they've collected all items and are in NG+, and poured great effort into a character, versus someone who used the glitch and is at the same level of prowess with 1% of the effort and time put in.

It is for that last reason that I would like to see the glitch fixed/removed. I admit I have used it and it was for the sake of convenience, but never, ever to grief other players. But I would sacrifice my own convenience, and the convenience of others, to restore some balance to online play. Dark Souls online won't be able to carry on in its present state without the two major game-breaking glitches being resolved, at least not in my opinion.

I bet they fix it with the DLC and the supposed straight pvp arena-ing.

For me, the glitch is just a mean to make my quest to uncover the hidden secret(s) more comfortable whenever I want to start off with a new character. Beside, you can't really utilize the glitch if you haven't been spending times gathering the goods with your initial character anyway, right?
