sticky analog stick?

one of my sticks on my ps3 controller is sticking up always up always on a ledge where up is down.

so i figured i could spray it with baby powder to lube it up. i would really rather not have to take the controller appart.

has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, have a working solution?

Buy a new one?

Or take it apart and clean the pieces.

i knew someone would just say buy a new one.

i cant buy a new one. they are incredibly rare. six axis no dual shock.

and i do not want to take it apart.

Opening the controller up and cleaning the pieces is probably the best solution. Just as long as you're gentle with the controller, that is. I suggest at least trying it. It's really hard to clean the pieces properly without taking the controller apart.

Also, try to search something like "How to clean a PS3 controller" on Youtube. I'm sure there are some tutorials to help you.

Well if you don't want to take it apart or buy a new 1, your best bet is wave your wand at it and say repairo..... :roll:

Bite the bullet and take it apart.

^ that baby powder will gum up almost certainly. Could try graphite but then there's a whole mess of other problems possible.

it's not that i have had it appart before...i just dont want to do it again. :/
