Which is better?

I was just wondering if it is better to upgrade a weapon to +15 or with some elemental upgrade? This thread is connected to my recent thread "forest pvp is total CRAP". I am trying to figure out new strategies to help in forest pvp. So, back on topic, which is better for pvp purpose?



I was thinking about upgrading a great scythe but i wanted to know if elemental upgrades or miracle upgrades are better.

thst depends on the weapon and your toons stats

a common thing with the great scythe is to make it +15 have a lot of dex and buff it with the cristal or dm buff

Here are most of my stats if it helps.. I am not a cheater btw, this is my main char.

For your stats, I'd say go +15 and buff the weapon, you'll be hell on turtles, that's for damn sure.

Perfect advice, you have so much stats that usually you'll get more bang for your buck if you do this. Check the AR of the weapon you want to use in both cases, usually it will be better to make it +15 (as it's AR will be lower, but in one type and then buffable). I personally prefer using a Chaos weapon even into 120 with some weapons. I don't want to deal with buffing it and having a time limit. I prefer no magic and taking my time, but some weapons AR is just too low to be (one or the other). Its still special to your character (as we see now), but also the weapon and buffs you can use, as well as slots you wish to devote to buffs.

At those stats, +15 will be stronger than any elemental, even unbuffed.

Thanks for the advice and tips. Right now i am using a +15 great scythe and just buffing it with sunlight/darkmoon blade. So far its working really well for me, but i have thought of making a 2nd scythe with elemental upgrade just to see how it compares.

It won't. I have a +15 and a chaos +5. Even at 10 humanity the +15 beats the chaos in practical applications and with a quick spritz of lemon buff they're worlds apart.

So it would not be worth it to get another one from what you are saying skarekrow. I was gonna make a lightning one, but if buffing it is still stronger than i wont waste my time.

With 99 Str and 50 Dex you don't have to worry about making elemental or enchanted. Just make everything normal or crystal and you are good to go.

Yeah, your stats will definitely favor the +15 version of anything over an elemental version of any kind like Wyrm said. My main is 45 dex and 40 something strength and with 10 humanity the chaos technically can have higher damage on paper. But when it comes down to it, the nature of split damage means the +15 will actually do more. Plus you can swap buffs to fit the situation or just to look cool. For instance, my dueling toon (40 dex, 14 str) uses the same gear as my main for the most part. My stats won't support anything better than magic weapon. Blue looks bada**

I agree, the weapon buffs do look bada** which is why i like to use them. I do still like the elemental upgrades especially the +10 fire gargoyles halberd, that thing does wonders.
