Item and skill critique

hi. i have a level 70 knight with armor of elite knight helm, eastern armor +2, and elite knight leggings. with drake sword and Zweihander+2 as my best usable weapons. 26 vitality, 26 endurance, 37 strength,16 dex, and 14 resistance. item/stat suggestions? looking for exclusively melee character thanks!
i also use sunlight shield mixed with knight shield

If you raise dex to 18 you will be able to use the black knight greataxe, a very powerful weapon.

Ditch the Eastern Armor unless you need the lower weight, Elite Knight armor is good.

Raise your Vit and End to 40, Raise your Dex to 18 like Alluier said, so you can wield the BKGA.

What rings are you using?

i have only the blue tear-stone and the old witch's ring, i picked the old witch's ring as a gift bc figured it would do something cool eventually

i honestly havent run across any in pickups, or stores.

Dont EVER level resistence, at SL 70 (37 stg / 16 dex) a lot of weapons that scales should be much better then the drake sword, and you dont need to spend you souls on leveling, first you got to find a setup of weapons that you are confortable with and upgrade then to the max, theeeeen you focus on leveling up so much your character

oh... i almost forgot, try the ring of favor and protection for your build, is the best ring for beginners.

Thanks! i got lured into leveling resistance a few times bc it bumped up my defense but i see know there are better things to level up

^^ Quake III Arena avatar - much respect for you - you should try out a man-serpent greatsword.

If you wanna be pure melee, find atleast one of EVERY weapon time and play with them, pick out say... 5 of your favorites and then pair them up like say offhand spear + Great sword, Shield and katana etc etc and then level your str and dex to 40/40 so you can use them all effectively.

You've either gotta farm it from the snake men in sen's fortress or dukes archives, or purchase it from shiva in blight town.

from the sens fortress serpents - kill them until they drop one.

yes, i favor the slashing weapons with a thrusting power attack like some of the straight swords and katanas. i sometimes use heavier weapons for tougher enemies like the Zweihander and eventually the black knight greataxe

Try out the giant's halberd. It has the scythe's r1 moveset, and it's r2s are strong thrusts. It scales AND does lightning damage too.

Awesome. i just leveled up my dex to 18 and the dark knight halbred is doubling the drake swords damage. thanks for the advice! what would the next step armor wise be? or just upgrade say the elite knight?

Do you have the standard knight chest?

upgrade the elite knight - perhaps buy the giant leggings and gauntlets when you reach the giant blacksmith and use them once you get 40-ish endurance.

Upgrade the **** out of the chest and use that for a bit. It's great poise to ratio

Golem armor with 40 stamina + cloranthy ring?

Elite Knight Armor to +10 is bad *** but Paladin Armor chest +5 i great cuz of the awesome curse resist and with 40 str BKGA +5 is doing like 616 dmg and its pretty quick but the recovery from attacks is slow i used it against nito and raped him in like 9-10 hits

you should really try the claimore or the greatsword out so, they have really nice movesets, and are both really easy to get

@candle, thanks for the link thats really helpful. and @pesth ive been using a Zweihander+10 and i love it. slow recovery speed but the damage is worth it. Where do you find palidan armor, im assuming a drop somewhere

To get the Paladin armor kill paladin leroy in ToG( tomb of giants ) he is an npc invader he should invade once you get close to nito but only if your human. and after you kill nito the armor should be on the ground in the corner if its not there just quit and reload and it should pop up. but look on youtube for more details or on the wiki hope this helps
